luvbug00 wrote: Colonic? I'm getting one done on the 12th and I'm mega nurvous about somone sticking a tube in my tucas blush.gif . I hear it's supposed to be excelent for your health. I just wondered if anyone has had one so I can be more reassured before the procedure...

moped replied: Never heard of it - but i will bump it up for you!

mckayleesmom replied:
Can you explain what it is to me? Ive never heard of it. You can pm me if its too graphic for here.

luvbug00 replied: Basicaly it's a procedure to clean out the colon. They place a tube in your rectom and send in some water and then suction out all your impurities ( aka waste) while massaging your abdoman and helping break up all your inner impurities. ( hope that wasn't too grafic) unsure.gif Anyhoo it takes about 1 hour and the tube is supposed to be very small. It' supposed to be very good for your health and give you energy and drops you 5 lbs . ( which is an added bonus to the more organic benifits)

mckayleesmom replied: hmmm...never heard of it. You will have to let us know how it goes. How much does this little ditty cost??

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: My MIL gets one about every month, maybe even more (which IMO is too much). She's been in the natural foods industry for over 30 years, but I think she also uses it to lose weight. Plus, once you do it that much, you get addicted, JMO. DH had one once when he went on a "health" retreat with his mom. He said it was a bit uncomfortable, because there is a lot of pressure from the water and "things" (tmi) are trying to break up. And just a warning, when you're finished, you're on the pot for like 30 minutes or more! So just be prepared to get to the bathroom quick. You also have the tech person holding the tube there, so if you're embarassed by someone seeing your tush, it wouldn't be for you.

Anyhow, I have never tried one, but considering it after I give birth. I am eating a lot of processed foods with this PG and so I wouldn't mind cleaning all that unatural food out, kwim? blush.gif

luvbug00 replied: Interesting...Thanks Rae. happy.gif

it's like $90. Not too bad and that's what finally got me to sign up. I'll let ya'll know how it goes.

amynicole21 replied: I want one, but there isn't anywhere in my town that does them. You're supposed to do it more than once. The first few only loosen up all of the built up crud in there. They recommend one a month for a course of a year.

The only bad thing I've heard is that you are running to the toilet to let out all of the water for a whole day. Don't plan anything for a few hours after the procedure! wink.gif

jacobsmama replied: My friend also has this done about 3-4 times a year she said it isn't painful but the first time it was very uncomfortable because she was so nervous. I have never had it done though but it is becoming very popular lately. wink.gif

luvbug00 replied: .

Right. the tech told me ( after telling her my proportions) that it is possible to get fully clensed in one sitting and it's possible because I'm soo small ( small because she hasn't seen my turky bum yet emlaugh.gif )

Note to self..buy adult dipers ... wacko.gif

moped replied: Where is it done - at a clinic or a health food place or where?

redchief replied: Heard of them, never had one. Colonics are considered "medical quackery". Read this before you lay out money for it.

jcc64 replied: Yikes, I just read Ed's link. I would think twice about it, especially the part about sanitary conditions. What kind of place is this- can you really trust that proper hygiene is being practiced between patients?
Personally, I think the body is well equipped to cleanse itself, if you eat a proper diet.

luvbug00 replied: OYE! Thanks Ed!! well now i'm starting to question doing this. Oh and the place is a spa atmosphere but the people who do it are doctors with degrees. ( which I have to do some resarch on but I'll know if they are 100% legit very soon.) And slowly wanting to cancel emlaugh.gif

redchief replied: I've always considered that hole an outtie only... heheh... If you know what I mean. I'm not even looking forward to the scope I'm going to have to get done annually soon (I'm going to be 43... ugh!).

C&K*s Mommie replied: I agree with Ed & Jeanne. I have heard of them, but I would never get one myself. Your body can take care of itself if you give it the right things.
