are you an organ donor?

Are you an organ donor? Or what about donating things like your brain for scientific purposes?

(Sorry if no one wanted to hear about donating Navi's organs, a few friends didn't want to hear about it, so if your like them I apologise)

I am an organ donor and hope that I would have the soundness of mind to donate my children's if that unfotunately happened.

My Aunt received a Kidney transplant and thus lived an additional 25 years Thank God!
My FIL donated his entire body for medical research, as he felt he had lived a few times when docs told him he wouldn't so he thought they could learn something there.

mummy2girls replied: How did Navi die again? you can only donate organs if you are declared legally dead. I donated Jordans... It is a wonderful gift and it makes you feel good .... Thats awesome you did it!

As far as donating to science a lot of people in my family donated their bodies to science.

coasterqueen replied: I never was til a few years ago believe it or not. I had always been freaked out about it (still am ) but Dh finally convinced me to do so. It took him a few years to convince me, but he did.

My brother is a Type 1 diabetic who just received an islet cell transplant, and without that person who donated their organs his life would not be as good as it is now! It made a tremendous difference to him and our whole family.

Boys r us replied: Rick and I both are. I have two uncles who have both had kidney transplants and one who also had a pancreas transplant and a lilttle brother with juvenile diabetes who at some point could need a transplant..so I'm a huge advocate for organ donating!

Karen I've always been a little freaked out by it too. It took me a few years to finally decide to check that little box.

But my thought is .. if my kids need it.. I would beg and steal to do it. If I am gone... my organs will go to someone else child.. be it a child or an adult they are still someone's baby.

I won't know they are gone.. I won't be missing them.. I get a new body!

danahas4monkeys replied: I am , have always been . My son has a heart condition and ever since he was born I have been an organ donor, simply because god forbid he ever need a heart someone would have to give that to him, so why wouldnt I be!
