baby not hardly moving today

indywndy_04 wrote: Poor little squeeshed Jake is not moving too much today. sad.gif I will see the doctor today and ask him about the slowed down movements.

Hope he isnt getting stressed out in there or anything....

Also, what do you guys think of using the Sam's club formula that is compaired to Enfamil Lipil? I looked at the back and it has the exact same everything, even the amounts. We bought a can but saved the receipt, what do you think?? I dont want to skim on his nutrition, but I am not a breastfeeder either (sorry - dont get mad) wub.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: It's getting so close! I can't wait to hear what the doctor says. wub.gif

I think Sam's formula is fine. wink.gif thumb.gif

PrairieMom replied: I was told that it is better to use the name brand stuff, because those are the brands that have been tested more. I have never used off brands, with Benjamin I used enfamil, and with Al we use similac

hoosier momma replied: My doc told me the only two generics that were okay to use were the WalMart which is Parents Choice, I think and whatever the Sam's brand was. He said those two are very comparable to the name brand. I used the WalMart brand from the time John Robert was two weeks old until he went to whole milk. I think they are fine.

edited to add that I hope all is well with Jake. Let us know how the appointment goes.

3xsthefun replied: Wow! You really are getting closer now!

I'm not to sure about the Sam's formula since I have never used it.

MommyToAshley replied: Hope all goes well with your appointment. I bet Jake just doesn't have as much room to move around now. Let us know what the doc says.

As for the formula, I don't know about the different brands. Maybe another question to ask your doc? It sounds like the Sam's Club brand is the exact same though??

P.S. No need to apologize about breastfeeding, it's your choice. One or the other doesn't make you a better Mom. hug.gif

moped replied: I used the Walmart brand (parents choice) when I finished BF - we don't have Sams here but I think I know what it is comparable to here........I think it would be just fine!

Twelve Volt Man replied: Although my wife has been breast-feeding exclusively, our doctor told us that generica formuals are perfectly fine. He said that ALL formulas must meet the same standards set out by the FDA, so even an off-brand is safe. Just like generic prescription medication.

lisar replied: I dont know about the Sam's brand formula because Raygen was on a special high calorie formula cause she was so tiny. And Lexi I used Similac w/Iron she HAD to have the extra iron. SO I never tried it. But my friend used the wal-mart brand and her son is just fine and as big as ever and grew like a normal child.

2BMom replied: Ask your doctor when you see him/her.

Jackie012007 replied: oooh that is what happened a few days before Carly was born, she stopped moving all together!

I used the Wal*Mart generic of Enfamil before we switched Carly to the Soy goodstart - my ped said it was just fine.

indywndy_04 replied: Thanks for all the input!!! I did ask the doctor about the formula and he agreed that the generic brands have to meet the FDA requirements and are fine.

As for the slowed movements, he agreed that he is running out of room and getting ready for his big day by saving up some energy.

I did not gain any weight this time...I am 18 lbs total weight gain. I dont know how I managed that...but I am happy about it! smile.gif

Now - we wait......(that is the hard part) wub.gif

Edited - I wish this had spell checker on it. smile.gif

hoosier momma replied: Glad everything went well at the appointment. Jake will be here before you know it.

gr33n3y3z replied: I'm glad everything went well smile.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: I am so glad to hear that Jake is fine...
How are you hanging in there? It wont be long now...now is the time to eat that one last really good yummy yummy before he comes!

indywndy_04 replied:
Do you it is the last time to eat the yummy yummy because I will need to start losing the baby weight... sad.gif

My husband said...(innocently of course...) "I have to get your treadmil ready for you, huh"

UGH!! I hate trying to lose weight!! I just want the yummy yummy and be able to be skinny!!!

Boo&BugsMom replied:
Sounds like what our ped told us. He said they are all the same. You're only paying for the name. We plan on using the generic (Parent's Choice) on Aiden when we switch him over to regular formula. Is the stuff from Sam's the same as Walmart? It might be considering Walmart is owned by the same corporation as Sam's.

ETA: they also make so many different kinds of generic too so you have a wide choice. There is milk based with extra iron, soy, generic gentlease,....the only one they do not have a generic for seems to be the hypoallergenic stuff....of course that is what Aiden is on. dry.gif
