MIL's flight was at 8:40 this morning. She had requested that all of us go to see her off and I was willing to do that for her. We got up at 6 and planned to leave the house at 7. The first words out of her mouth were "Katherine is sick again". Apparently K started puking at 5am. Oh JOY!
Well, we all pile in the car (after DH breaks part of the seat off that moves them frontwards and backwards...he's such an ox) and go. We get to the interstate and it is backed up all the way up the entrance ramp. We'd never make it that way. We take a slightly longer alternate route and make it to the airport close to 8. DH misses the turn for short term parking and ends up at long term. By this time, both kids are asleep and MIL concedes that we shouldn't wake them up. I wait in the car with the kids while DH helps his mom with her luggage to the airport.
20 minutes later and...they both come back. She was 5 minutes too late. They think they can get her on the 1pm flight but now her DH called and said that it is snowing so bad in peoria that they may not be able to fly in there. OMG NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
K drank some apple juice and promptly threw that up all over the car too. It's getting rather ridiculous around here.
ediep replied: OMG!!! I am so glad you can laugh!!!!!!!!! Poor YOU!!!!!!!! Here are some majror hugs for you!!!!!!!
I hope that K feels better soon.
Hope you MIL is on her way home soon!!!!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Oh no!! ((((CARY)))) What is going on?? Bless your heart. I hope after MIL leaves that things go back to being peaceful and all the sickies leave your house. (not that MIL is the cause of it, but you know what I mean )
Poor K! (poor you )
MomToMany replied: What a time you are having!!! I hope for your sanilty's sake that she can leave ASAP, and things get back to normal (if there's ever such a thing???).
Poor K, I bet she's just stressed out over MIL being there too. I hope she gets better soon!
You deserve all the hugs in the world for all you've been through Cary!!
Here's 10,000,000,000,000,000 for you!
Boys r us replied: Oh no Cary! What a mess...although..even with all of baby talkin coo-cooness she might be TOO bad to have around if K is sick, at she can help clean the puke out of the car and do some laundry
kimberley replied: oh no! poor K and poor Cary!! my gosh, i am sending you tons of "good luck" vibes since the forces that be are just working in the opposite direction from you these days . hope MIL gets out at 1pm and that K is better soon
A&A'smommy replied: OMG I would be NUTS if my MIL was staying for so long, I'm sorry I hope she leaves soon! (((HUGS))) and I hope K is better soon!
Josie83 replied: O my goodness. I'm so sorry Cary . . .at least you've got your famous sense of hmour! xx
MomToJade&Jordan replied: That's it. I am sending you some ~~~~~GOOD LUCK VIBES~~~~~ you really need them. The only thing that would back I75 up on a Sat is a bad accident. Plus that area is always busy no matter what time it is (even when it's raining so hard you can't see a foot in front of you). It's so funny because I know the area you are at so I'm picturing the exits and then your trip to the Airport. Man I hope your MIL was on that 1 pm flight.
kit_kats_mom replied: she made the 2 pm flight. Tried for the 1pm but realized that the connector in atlanta is the same as the 2pm. She somehow wrangled DH and K into staying in the terminal with her for an extra hour. Lauren and I stayed home for the second trip and napped.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Woo Hoo! Doin the happy dance with you!!
MomToMany replied: Thank goodness she's gone !!!
Glad you got a nap in too! I hope your life settles down some now, Cary!!
amynicole21 replied: OMG, Cary - I'm so sorry. What is up with the black cloud following you around lately? Thank God she's gone
kit_kats_mom replied: Lol! I dunno. I mean, I'm a basically good person. OK, I can be a little catty sometimes but hey, I should have GOOD karma not BAD.
loveydad replied: That happened to us! We had to take a relative to the airport, he's an older man with diabeties, a foot problem, so he's pretty slow, and they stopped him at every point! he kept setting off the alarm!!
So he was litereally 1 or 2 minutes late, and he had to get a new ticket! UGH!
I feel your pain!
