blood test results for Katherine
kit_kats_mom wrote: Well, the dr called today and said that the test results were normal and her lipids were fine. He also threw in a comment that "the only thing that can explain the high count in the original draw is a lab error". Grrrrrreat buddy! So, maybe the good results are a lab error too? Thanks for making me worry! Creep. I think that the next time she has to have blood drawn, I'm going to request the lipids test again just for my piece of mind. Anyway, that is good news. I am just going to keep trying to get her to eat (she had about 2T's of peanut butter mixed with choc pudding today) yummy! and I'll keep pumping to increase my supply.
Gain baby gain! Maybe by our november appointment, she will have gained LOTS of weight.
I'm off to bake a batch of cookies to take to her ped. Poor woman, I know I have to drive her nuts with all of my questions.
jdkjd replied: Awesome!!! That lab sucks big time!
Okay, Katherine GAIN WEIGHT!! Maybe I should see if she likes my diet of Wendy's, Lindy's and Chik-Fl-A..
kit_kats_mom replied: I might just take you up on your offer to come over and feed her when you feed Bailey. Maybe seeing another kid eat will help. Perhaps we will try it this weekend?
She is such a stinker. She won't even try the food anymore. I put a spoon near her mouth and she either looks at it, turns her head & says "no" or she swats the spoon away. I can't even get it to her mouth. If I try to put foods on her tray, she'll pick up a piece, lick it and winshield wiper the tray's contents onto the floor with her arm. BRAT
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Sorry to hear about the lab error! I too am having trouble with Claudia and her weight I found this website that lists High Protein Foods (which are also high calorie foods)! Here is the website:
http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/...47/protein.html
I found it to be very helpful and to know exactly what I should be buying when I go grocery shopping! Sending lots of WEIGHTGAIN vibes for Katherine!
Kaitlin'smom replied: glad the results were good.
gain baby gain.....
jem0622 replied: Hey, if you can get her to eat anything malted (milk mixed w/ ovaltine, carnation instant breakfast, even malt balls) then that would help I think. It is always advised that you consume malt to gain weight.
So glad the results were good! Idiots they are for making you worry!

MomToJade&Jordan replied: Well that sounds loike good news, but I think having the lipid test taking again would be good for your piece of mind. Oh Chik-Fi-A....we don't have any of those here. Feel free to send some my way. I think having Bailey come over to eat would be a good idea. Jade eats better when we are all eating together. She used to wind-shiled wiper all of her stuff off the tray too. She won't eat in her Highchair anymore. I just put her food on a plate on the coffee table and she eats it there. Right now she's dining on fruit loops. She loves fruit loops.
kit_kats_mom replied: awesome! Thanks for the link.
kit_kats_mom replied: Hmmm...I'd never heard that. I'll check into it. Thanks
ediep replied: I am glad the blood test came back normal!
Sending ~~~~Gain weight vibes~~~~
I don't knaow about Jason, but I sure have some weight gain vibes that I'd like to get rid of
I have been offering Jason new foods and he won't even try them, or he'll take on taste, spit it out, then throw the rest on the floor.....nice, right. but after what seems like 100 times of doing this, one day he just startes eating it. My point being....keep offering, she may suprise you one day
MommyToAshley replied: Glad the test results came back good. I agree, I would have the test taken again for your piece of mind.
Sending some more ~~~~Weight Gain Vibes~~~~~
Schnoogly replied: OMG Iain is the same way. I have to put some food on his lips first so he can taste it. Then I try to get the spoon in there, and usually he swats it away or turns his head back and forth really fast. If I put food on his tray he just plays with it--the windshield wiper is very popular at our house!
They are stinkers!!!
But he actually ate a bunch of soup broth that DH's grandpa made while we were in Oregon. DH used the soup spoon to feed him instead of his baby spoon and Iain just kept eating it! It was made mostly of corn. He likes corn. So I'm on a soup kick, trying to find something he'll eat.
He is drinking about 45-50oz of formula a day now. That's all he eats! It's just ridiculous. The kid drinks like 8 6oz bottles a day! (Plus a little BF, not much milk anymore) He needs to eat some regular food!! At least we moved to the follow up formula which is cheaper (and has more iron and calcium in it). I am worried about allergies so most of the high cal stuff is out--eggs, peanut butter, most dairy stuff. He has never tried whole milk, has had yogurt a couple of times, and that seems OK. He refuses cheese.
Glad she has gained a little and the lipids are OK!!

Sending Weight gain vibes.
DansMom replied: Oh, I'm so glad the lipids were okay. That sounded way too out of whack when you wrote "400". I thought there was no way a kid on a mostly BM diet could have cholesterol like that! Still, then they had her as being 26 years old on the "correct" results. Hmm. I can see why you would want to retest eventually, with so many question marks on that lab's organization and accuracy.
Eating problems are so hard to figure out. Daniel has gotten so much better about eating good meals in the last month. I would be INCREDIBLY frustrated if he windshield-wipered at the beginning of every meal rather than at the end as he does now. I wouldn't know what to do and I'd probably be in tears or angry. I really admire you---you've really stuck with trying everything you can think of, dealing with idiot doctors, seeking support and advice from multiple sources and persisting toward a solution.
A&A'smommy replied: thats great about the test results!!! GAIN Katherine gain!!!!
coasterqueen replied: glad the test results came back okay
GROW Katherine GROW!!!
CantWait replied: glad to hear everything is alright.
kimberley replied: grrrrrrr bad lab!! they did that to me once too. made me go for a bone scan and thought i might have bone cancer... it was a mistake.
i am glad that katherine is okay!!
grow baby!
natjasem replied: Great news! What a huge weight lifted off your shoulders! I'm going to try the peanut butter thing too for Emma- send some good weight gain vibes my way too!
jcc64 replied: Corey's a windshield wiper too! Nice to know we're not alone! So very happy about the blood work for you! One thing that seems to work with Corey is distraction. I can always shovel more food in if she's watching a video. I know, I know, setting up bad eating habits, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Try feeding her somewhere other than the high chair, she probably senses your anxiety around mealtimes.
