car seat strap answer

Sheesh! This stuff is so confusing! wacko.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Thanks for clarifying. You're right, this stuff is confusing. I never thought about having Ashley's carseat rechecked after we turned it around, but maybe we should.

MommyToAshley replied: Another question....

What happens when they are too tall for the strap (in the heighest position) to be above or at their shoulder on FF seats? Ashley is very tall for her age and is almost at this point. I really don't want to go to a booster seat already.

Kaitlin'smom replied: shhees so confusing...I think I will have mine checked just to make sure.

thanks for the update

Jamison'smama replied: Thanks for the update--you answered my question so I feel much better--good question M2A---I'm curious about what they'll say about that.

amynicole21 replied:
Waiting for reply from the CPS tech... I'll let you know.

coasterqueen replied: Thanks Amy. I'm not sure how I feel because my car seat tech for the state of IL said that they are still supposed to be below sad.gif. I'll have to make an appointment with her I guess. So do I believe someone IRL or on the car seat board???

Kaitlin'smom replied: maybe its different in different states? or for different types of seats?

I am gonna find out for my self with my car seat.....just to be safe.

Jamison'smama replied:
Do you face Kylie forward? If so, what slot do you have it in? If the top slot is the only reinforced slot and it is above her shoulders what would you do??

amynicole21 replied: M2A, here is the link to the response about shoulders being above the top notch:

Car seat board She gives links in the actual post that don't carry over when I copy the text.

MommyToAshley replied: Thanks Amy, I appreciate all your research. I hope Ashley doesn't get too much taller because I don't want to get a different seat, but I will if I have to.

coasterqueen replied:
Well, I guess what I'm saying is our tech told us the middle is the safest and the carseat board is saying it's not. Why would our IRL tech tell us the middle is the safest? Or I should say she said the straps coming up over the shoulder is the safest. I'll post a pic here in a bit on different thread.
