chiropratics and kids
PrairieMom wrote: anyone take their kids to a chiropractor? I have had may people suggest I try it for Charlie and his barfing issues, but I don't really have any experience with them, the whole thing makes me nervous. The thought of someone cracking on my poor baby freaks me a little bit.
luvbug00 replied: I vote no. only because they are messing with your back. i have back issues (though minor) and i literally got addicted to going. It's back crack! and ever really helped just temporarily fixed the issue and didn't seem to help anything else.. what did your ped say about that? or are you running from them as per your FB they dont seem to be much help..lol
PrairieMom replied: The Ped isn't much help. She basically told me that there isn't much that we can do since his issue isn't anatomical, so we are flipping through med after med trying to find one that works. There are a few more steps on my Peds battle plan, 2 more meds then a specialist, but the thought of being on all these different meds isn't really appealing to me either. The next one she wants to try is a antibiotic that helps the stomach empty faster. I am especially not thrilled at the thought of having him on long term antibiotics. Other than that, they suggest I quit BF, and start bottling with rice cereal in the bottles. Well, that's totally not going to happen.
bluebear replied: I was just like Charlie when I was a baby. I did go to chiropractors as an infant and it did help.
Mommy2Isabella replied: We take ours to a Chiropractor, and it works wonders! There are different types on Chiropractic care as well, our Chiro is a wellness type, hard to explain, here is their website Chiro
All the kids get adjusted and Sal and I both do as well.
Isaia had reflux really bad and I hated the meds as well, hope you can find something that works for you guys!
julesmom replied: Could Charlie be allergic to milk? Have you tried not having any milk products for a day or two and see how he is?
My oldest was allergic to milk as an infant and I couldn't have any milk, not even 1/4 cup. I stopped eating any milk products and he was perfectly happy.
Ped. didn't tell me this, btw. He said ds had colic. An older grandma told me to give it a try. And that was the answer!
A&A'smommy replied: We do and it works WONDERS!!!!! LOVE IT!!!
A&A'smommy replied: Was going to say thiis also!!! They aren't there just for backs lol they do other things too!!
PrairieMom replied: Oh yeah, that was my first step. I was off Milk and anything that contained even trace amounts of milk for a full 5 weeks before I finally gave up. That is definitely not our issue. but at least I can eat cheese!
julesmom replied: I just saw a presentation on the news and thought of you. Could he be allergic to gluten? I don't know if infants show signs or not, but the show did say most people should be diagnosed by 2.
Just an idea.
grapfruit replied: My sister in law works at a chiropractor's office and they do lots of infants for spitting up and colic issues. She said most only take a few visits!! They're very very gentle of course! Another thought might be infant massage. But I think an adjustment will probably work great!
lovemy2 replied: I say give it a try - as long as the one you go to specializes in infants and I could be wrong but I go to a chiro who uses the activator method - not cracking involved - takes a little longer, few more visits than traditional chiro but much more gentle....both my kids were pukers - Dylan more than Olivia but sometimes time is the best remedy - once they get sturdier they get better....good luck - hope he gets better....
