cameragirl21 replied: elephants with their trunk up....
stella6979 replied: My Dad travelled a lot when I was a kid and he always made sure to bring me some of the money home from where he visited. It was just something he did for me and I always looked forward to it.
MoonMama replied: Disney's Cinderella memorabilia (some of it is worth a pretty good amount). This is my biggest one but I do have other stuff I collect too.
HuskerMom replied: I collect smurfs
Kaitlin'smom replied: I have started a Kayechain collection, if I or someone goes someplace I ask for one, they are realitivly cheep and I have them in a drawer. I have a streched penny collecton, any place we go I get one if they have them. I have a precious moments collection but I dont buy them my parents do for me, one each year at the minimum. I have a spun glass collection as well, and crystal. Kaitlin has the growing up series.
PrairieMom replied: I have glass dishes, I am the 4th generation to have them, and they will be passed down to Alexis. They are worth a fair amount, but I would never ever sell them.
Boo&BugsMom replied: Frogs and Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs collectables. Oh, and Disney movies, but I'm lacking in that one.
kit_kats_mom replied: Does debt count?
I have a button collection that my great grandmother started but I've never added to it. My mom had them appraised once and there are some that are worth a lot...at least for a button. I have hundreds and they were all mounted in groups by my great grandmother. The rarest and priciest is a button that is made of wood and it has a tank with a plane flying over it. I think it is from WWI but I'm not sure. I just like to look at them and try to think about what kind of dress or uniform they came off of. Some of them are so detailed.
The only other thing we collect is metal magnets from the places we visit.
Twelve Volt Man replied: A few years ago, I started collecting law enforcement coffee mugs. I stopped, upon acquiring five. I despise clutter, and, for me, collecting things doesn't work.
msoulz replied: Dust bunnies.
holley79 replied: I have a bell collection. They are bells from all over. My grandmother has genuine cabbage patch dolls she collects and will be passing them to me. I use to collect stamps but grew bored when Ms Hamilton wasn't giving me unique ones.
sem replied: I used to collect pig stuff, but I got tired of clutter and I gave it all away.
3xsthefun replied: I've been trying to collect anything has to do with giraffes for last few years. I don't have much yet. I also try to collect anything has to do with horses and nascar.
We also have a really old set of plates, bowls and cups that a friend gave to us from New York. I think the set is worth some money but can't remember how much. I doubt we would ever sell them anyways.
CantWait replied: Use to collect cow stuff, but got bored of that quickly.
Now I collect Boyds Bears and Friends. Don't know if it's worth anything, probably not. I've only bought one (and it was actually for dh since it was a soldier), my mom buys me a couple usually every year. I'm up to about 8 or 10 now.
gr33n3y3z replied: Dragons, dolphins and I got my Dads comic book collection and trading cards worth lots of money but I cant sell them off bc my son John wants them
Dont tell Ed but I'm going to start collecting Throwing Stars
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I used to collect teddy bears. Now I have a few boyds bears figurines, but really I'm not too into it. It's just more to dust IMO.
zdk753 replied: I collect spoons from around the world. My granny started it for me. I haven't gotten any new ones though in a long time. No one ever goes anywhere anymore. As far as value they're probably not worth a whole lot, but they have sentimental value to me.
CantWait replied: What is Throwing Stars?
luvmykids replied: Not on purpose I do have some collections though...
My favorite is my newest which is old tack, spurs, etc. I love the old stuff!
I have a collection of old metal signs, a small one, but I buy one everytime I see it.
I also have a collection of vintage product cookbooks, as far back as pre WWII.
Umm what else, lipstick, cowboy boots, jeans, hair products
MoonMama replied: Girl you are too funny!
If that is the case I collect those things too.....esp. lip stuff (lipgloss, chapsticks, lipsticks etc.) I am seriously obsessed with lip stuff, I can NOT go to a store without buying at least one. I even have Alec trained to bring me home 1 or 2 if he goes to the store alone. At one point I cleaned out my purse and I had 17 in there 17! I think I have 4 or 5 in my wallet at the moment. My name is Ally and I have a problem.
Also I would have to say I collect purses...I buy a few a year and I just can't bare to part with any. Let just say I have totes and totes of them.
Nina J replied: I collect the same thing as Jennifer. I don't have many, but when I see one I really like (and as long as the trunk is up) I'll buy it (if it doesn't cost an arm and a leg).
I was going to collecr meditation balls, but I only ever got 2 sets. They're really pretty though, and they make nice sounds
I guess the only other thing is books. I'm always reading something, and I have a big collection of books.
redplaydoh replied: Me too!!!
gr33n3y3z replied: http://www.extremely-sharp.com/es/catalog/throwingstars.html
you can buy them with many designs and shapes and engraved designs even
CantWait replied: Lisa, all I can say is I'm glad you're my friend.
Crystalina replied: I have many collections.
I used to collect Beanie Babies until Izabella was born. When she started exploring she found them so I ripped their tags off and now her and Evan use them as bean bags and throw them at each other. I bled for those stinkin' beanie toys and now they are thrown around the kids' rooms. Oh well, I guess that's called matureing.
-I collect salts of all kinds -quilts (started with handmade ones from dh's grandma and progressed from there.) -Willow Tree figurines -antique tobacco presses -decorative iron finiales -I inherited an assortment of money from around the world. One I know is an Egyptian bill but it's very fragile and I don't mess with it. There is also a Chinese bill that is mint conditon that says 10000 Yaun on the back but I don't know how much that is. Probably a buck. -antique trunks ( I use one for my coffee table and the rest are being used as tables or stacked. Great for hiding junk!) -Bent wood rockers (only have 2 so far but I've got my eye on another one.) -Betsy Ross flags (only 2) -Wine (although dh only drinks Bud Light and I don't drink anymore) -Longaberger baskets. I sold a bunch on ebay last year but I kept a few to hand down to the kids. One of my girlfriends was a consultant and she was always giving me discounts. Some people never use theirs but mine are used daily (with the protectors in of course )
Oh, and my latest collection is broken dvd players. That one I just started a few days ago.
jem0622 replied: I have a ton of Snowbabies, but none are on display. I also have an old typewriter that was my great gma's and an old leatherbound copy of the Complete Works of William Shakespeare.
Crystalina replied: I forgot about my Cambridge glass. I have a few pieces. Since I live where it was originally made it's pretty easy to find but that doesn't mean it's any cheaper. You would think us locals could get a deal...not on your life.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: I collect tea pots. It started with my mom giving me one every year on my Birthday and has excalated from there!
MoonMama replied: I also collect Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit stuff, And mini tea sets.
Cece00 replied: I dont collect anything.
grapfruit replied: I'm not REALLY into collecting b/c I hate clutter. But I've started Tim on pocket watches. He has one that was his grandpa's that he'll get when his dad dies and he loves it. He has his dad dig it out all the time. So 2005 Christmas I bought him another one that he wears when we go out. It's so beautiful! It opens on both sides and you can see all the way through it. I'm going to try and buy him another really nice, old one for his birthday or Christmas this year. I want to get him some that are worth a little bit of money. He likes simple so at least it won't be super expensive!
Our Lil' Family replied: Me too, that sits among my dust collection!
