couldnt sleep - neighbors

boyohboyohboy wrote: Our neighbors had their house broken into on sat. night. at 230am. The burgler was so "brave". He attempted to pry off the door frame with some kind of knife or puddy knife and bent out the door handle.
Our neighbors dog wouldnt stop barking and he told it to stop, but finally decided to get up to see what was wrong, and when he did, he say a man/kid in the enterway of their home. He flicked on the lights and the guy left. The police got the dogs here and they followed the scents all around their house, so the guy was looking in the windows..

Its really scarey.

He ran off, and later they found a 14 yr old kid who matched the clothes that the person was wearing..he is the suspect. I cant imagine! They are thinking he is one of the brothers to the kids who play here with all our kids..and he knew about some game system or something in the home and had come to steal it.

14yrs old.
he is lucky the neighbor didnt shoot him.

boyohboyohboy replied: I have to add, that the cops told us that we shouldnt leave our garages open during the day, that parents are sending their kids out to see what is in those garages and then they go home and tell their parents and the parents tell the kids what to steal! They said because the kids get a lessor sentence...

again.....CAN YOU IMAGINE!

MommyToAshley replied: OMG...Parents teaching kids to steal? ohmy.gif

mckayleesmom replied: that is scary

cameragirl21 replied: OMG, I can't believe parents would teach their kids to steal like that and essentially get them in trouble with the law just because they would get a lighter sentence. huh.gif
I mean, I get that it happens but from your family pic it looks like you live in a nice, residential, suburban neighborhood...not the kind of place I'd expect that sort of thing to happen. How awful and scary.

ITA! ohmy.gif unsure.gif sad.gif

boyohboyohboy replied:
yes, its a really nice family oriented community but in the past year, so many multi generaltional families moved in, and it seems like the kids are always out running around unsupervised.
and today they found out the kid who did this break in was 14.

bluebear replied: This is awful. Praying the boy gets help and you & your family are safe and healthy!

A&A'smommy replied: wow that is SO sad.... I truly do not understand people sad.gif

Calimama replied: That's so crazy!!!! ohmy.gif

CantWait replied: WOW, I'm sorry that is a scary situation being so close to home. And 14, where do they get these ideas from at 14? I can't imagine Robbie trying to break and enter into someone's home and steal their belongings. How sad. sad.gif
