do they do it on purpose? - DH's and chores

boyohboyohboy wrote: i love my dh dearly, but i wonder sometimes if he doesnt do things on purpose to get out of cleaning or helping with the chores....

this am i went to use my most prized weapon for kitchen cleaning, my fairly new kitchen vacuum swifer, and when i turned it on the worst smell came from it..

i asked dh what happened to it, and he said one night he gave jake the jar of parm cheese to hold and he opened it and spilled it on the floor so dh used the swiffer to vacuum it up, and then left it in the vacuum....this was at least a week ago.

so it was in there growing mold all this time....on the inside of the vacuum and all over it....it was spreading everywhere, and talk about a nasty cheese smell....

so needless to say, the thing got tossed, and now i need a new one.....

i mean do husbands sometimes do these things on purpose to avoid chores? rolleyes.gif

CantWait replied: My dh does stupid little things like that all the time. He says he didn't think, DUH really dry.gif

1lilpeanut2love replied: Yes they do! rolleyes.gif

TheOaf66 replied: sounds exactly like what my wife says to me (you don't think) but to answer your question...no it is not on purpose, it just does not rank high on a priority list of things we have to give thought to we have to many sports stats etc lodged up there but I say give him some credit for even making the attempt to clean it wink.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Mine will say, "yes, I'll do that." then take so long to do it that I get mad and do it myself. As soon as I'm done with the chore he says, "I was going to do that next." growl.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: On on hand I would say yes! But reading Troy's post made me think a little different. It still irritates me to no end. rolleyes.gif emlaugh.gif

Boo&BugsMom replied:
I think they do. Sounds like something Troy would totally do! Like I always tell him "common sense honey!". Men. dry.gif I know he always means well, but in the end it ends up making more work for me.

kimberley replied: lol it makes you wonder huh. bigthink.gif

i do agree with troy, at least they try rolleyes.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: I asked my DH to clean the toilet for me while I ran some errands before Brianne and McKaylee came over this past weekend. I specifically said, since you do not seem to know how to aim, would you mind cleaning it for me? That is all I asked of him to do. He works hard out of the house as it is. Did he do it? nosmiley.gif He cleaned the inside of the toilet, that is all. Since I did not spell it out for him, he only got the inner part not the part I was talking about. MEN! rolleyes.gif
That is pretty much what I told my DH, this past weekend. It is common sense to get the entire toilet not just one part of it. blahblah.gif .

lisar replied: My DH will do a chore but he will do a really bad job at it so that I wont ask him to do it again. And it works.

mom2my2cuties replied: Usually I am the one doing the stupid stuff lately - been so scattered that I can't think straight enough to get it done.

msoulz replied: I believe it!

My mom likes to tell the story about how my dad only changed one diaper, and my poor brother was just a mess because of it. Hmmmmm . . . I love her to pieces, but she still doesn't see the method to his madness! rolleyes.gif

DillsMommy replied: I would just be happy if DH did any chores. I wouldn't even mind the moldy cheese, atleast he tried. Mine says.... he works all day and shouldn't have to do anything. Keep in mind that I work too! We had a HUGE fight about taking the garbage out the other night. growl.gif growl.gif growl.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: So Ed, is that your way of complying that you guys do- do things wrong on purpose to get outta of doing it in the future? tongue.gif

redchief replied:
Heheh... nope. It's my way of exercising my right to keep my mouth shut and chuckle out loud. wink.gif
