do you watch the news?

kimberley wrote: i personally find the news sensationalized and depressing and avoid it as often as possible barring the weather. what about you?

cameragirl21 replied: everyday, i have to know what's going on.

Calimama replied: Usually at night, I do find it depressing though. sad.gif

3xsthefun replied: I'm bad, I hardly ever watch the news. I usually read about it on the computer. I do need start watching it more often.

A&A'smommy replied:
ITA and other than when there is bad weather coming through I don't watch it!!

Kentuckychick replied:
ITA! I tend to steer clear of the major national news channels like CNN and Fox and others that seem to always report the news based on their political stance (regardless of whether or not it agrees with mine) it drives me crazy. And I'm sick of hearing about Anna Nicole, Britney Spears and what type of child Brangelina are adopting next... seriously that is NOT "real" news! Ocassionally I flip through the channels to see the "breaking" news stories... so those types of news stations I rarely watch.

However, I selected that I watch the news daily and I do... the local news. I think it really just depends on what type of 'news' you have. Luckily here they seem to report mostly only real news and I figure if anything really important happens in the outside world they always report that too.

redchief replied: I try and watch the news whenever possible. I read the newspaper nearly every day.

Maddie&EthansMom replied:
Same here.

mom21kid2dogs replied: I rarely watch it not because of the depression factor but because of the "adult" content. It's just not fit to have on with 6yoa ears in the home. If I let her watch the news, I'd have to let her watch Law & Order SVU. They're pretty much the same.

ETA: I do read a major newspaper every morning

MoonMama replied: Usually only when I no they are going to feature Brandon/his team. wink.gif

HuskerMom replied: I watch the news enough to keep up with what's going on but I don't really like to watch it cuz it's always so negative.

stella6979 replied: I am a news hound and read it everyday.

Crystalina replied: I chose as often as possible. I'm a newsaholic. Dh can't stand it but before I had the sattelite turned off I was on MSNBC all the time. The news is my t.v. of choice (besides the ocassional primetime show). When I got DSL I found that I could watch news online so that is what I do now. I was not like this until 9/11. After that I just became addicted and now there is no hope for me. sad.gif

**ETA**
Although I do find it very depressing I have to know what's going on.

lisar replied: I hardly ever watch the news unless I know there is something comming on there that I wanna see. I do read about alot of it online during the day though.

jcc64 replied: Yes, I pay very close attention to the news, though rarely if ever on television. I get my info almost exclusively online.

Twelve Volt Man replied: My TV stays tuned to the news.

MotherForever2043 replied: everyday, i like to stay informed
I think it's good to know whats going on in our world. Sometimes we have to face the fact that the world is not perfect. sad.gif

Nina J replied: As often as possible. I also read the news online. I like to know what's going on in my country and the world
