easter shopping??
sparkys2boys wrote: Anyone start? And what are you guys planning on getting for your kids? I know alot of people just fill a basket with some candy right? We as usual take the oppurtunity to spoil the kids with more then they need
grandma replied: I was shocked, the other night when sil and I went shopping at Babies R Us, they had the Easter dresses out already (they are adorable). I notice that stuff cuz I usually my my grandkids Easter outfits.
mckayleesmom replied: Im guilty of that too....except its also stuff they need. I use holidays to get them new panties/underwear, new toothbrushes and toothpaste, some small toys, candy and hair things for Mckaylee. Sometimes a new pair of shoes have happened.
Sometimes I don't buy them baskets either.....I find something they will use again....Like a kids wheelbarrow...etc.
sparkys2boys replied: We do that alot to. They will of course get some new toys but we get new rain boots, coats, summer clothes, and big ticket things if they need them like new bikes etc. And this year they both need all of the above. Logan needs a bigger bike in the worse way for this summer and Cameron's seat on his bike is getting yucky so he will get one too.
mckayleesmom replied: See...Mckaylees birthday is usually not far behind Easter...April 22nd...So we usually do that stuff for her birthday.
sparkys2boys replied: OMG that's my b-day too!!! Cam's b-day is March 6 th so its hard for us because he gets so much for that too.
mckayleesmom replied: I think you are the first person we know that has her birthday.
sparkys2boys replied: I have a few years on here though
MommyToAshley replied: Easter? I just bought Ashley's Valentine's cards to pass out at school. I can only focus on one holiday at a time...LOL.
Easter does come early this year, I probably should get out and look at the dresses before all the cute ones are gone. I usually buy Ashley's on clearance after Easter (for the next year) but last year there wasn't anything left in her size that I liked.
coasterqueen replied: I've got the girls easter dresses only because I had some Gymbucks to spend. I still need to get Megan a sweater, Kylie some shoes, and both new tights.
Megan's birthday is the week before Easter so I have that and Easter to focus on. They'll get some small things in their basket, but otherwise Dh and I are thinking something along the lines of the stuff for them to do their own little flower garden on the deck - something they are responsible for and can take care of.
lisar replied: I havent even thought about it yet.
A&A'smommy replied: ick easter.... I have to get alyssa a dress and new shoes.. plus the stuff to stuff her basket with.. and I SO forgot about valentines day
CantWait replied: I won't be here for Easter, but I will get Ron to get Robbie a skateboard for Easter, and Anthony, I'm not sure yet, maybe a scooter.
I really need to find a pair of bunny ears before I go. Anyone seen then in TRU yet?
When is Easter this year?
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: I already have Mackenzie's dress. I ordered a Veggie Tales DVD for her basket and she says she wants some of those Blendy pens. Other than that just little things and a little bit of candy.
Calimama replied: We don't do candy. We are doing her spring/summer wardrobe and a couple of pool toys.
Boo&BugsMom replied: We do Easter baskets filled with small presents. So far I got Aiden those toddler crayon things by Crayola...can't remember the name (Tadoodles???) but they seem neat and something it'd be cool to use with him. Tanner has gotten a Star Wars Light Saber (an inexpensive one that is smaller) and a yo-yo. I will probably fill it with about 10 items each. I will put in a few sweets, but not many, and none for Aiden yet.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Same here! Alex's birthday is April 5th.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: march 23
Brias3 replied: Yikes, I need to think about Valentine's Day first! I need to go out at some point this weekend and get some small things.
For Easter, we usually do baskets with a couple items each- usually a book, some candy, a couple of small toys, hairbows, trinket-type things, etc. and sometimes a bigger gift to share, like an outdoor toy or something. They each also get a stuffed bunny- the Easter Bunny ALWAYS brings a bunny
luvmykids replied: We usually do outdoorsy fun stuff, like sidewalk chalk, mini bubble wands, etc and then some inexpensive jewelry, markers, and such. Not too heavy on the candy here.
