gas prices

I am just thankfull I won the gas game this week and filled up Monday at 2.55 a galon
holley79 replied: I paid 2.79 in Mobile, AL Tuesday. It was 2.89 at the stations I passed this morning. I want to
C&K*s Mommie replied: Gas game? Something at work or on the radio?
I did not pay much attention this morning when I went out, but last night when I came home I noted that our prices ranged from $2.71-$2.85 (low grade) around the parts of town that I drive through. One station in particular is always significantly higher than any others, even one diagonally across the street . Unless someone is desperate for gas (like me since I run on empty alot ) than it makes no sense to pay $.14 cents higher than the competition across the way. Or a couple blocks down the road.
coasterqueen replied: Ugh, it's been hovering around $2.97 around here in central IL and this morning on the way to work it was $3.09. Makes me want to . I think $3.09 is the cheapest around here too.
TheOaf66 replied: yeah, I think this is just getting ridiculous, no reason it should be this high
C&K*s Mommie replied: oh come on Troy, someone has to make record profits, and stuff their pockets with more money than conceivable to the common man! Those same someones have to make it by robbing the poor, like us common people. Treating us like the frog in the pot of boiling water, slowly turning up the heat, until we are drained of life and now money. Shallow money hungry-greedy people making a killin'.
Kaitlin'smom replied: No its just the game of should I get it now or see if it will go down again. Sometimes you win and it spikes up and sometimes you lose and it goes down (not mearly as much as the spikes but you still think darn could have save a few pennies)
Brias3 replied: We're at $3.17 here right now, I'm in the Milwaukee area. The lowest I saw was $3.09 last week. It's outrageous. I remember last summer, when we had just moved back to the States, I was shocked at how high the price was...and it was at nearly a dollar less than it is now!
I also heard that the gas stations are somehow rigging the pumps so you aren't even actually getting a full gallon's worth of gas for each "gallon" you buy. The whole thing makes me sick!
3xsthefun replied: I haven't been out since Tuesday and it was still $2.87 here the lowest and $2.91 being the highest. We are in the southern part of West Virginia.
DH told me it would be up to $3 a gallon this weekend.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: I play that game too!! Sometimes I wait to see if it will go down, and my tank gets below half and the prices spike! HATE THAT! I try to fill it from half a tank so it's not such a slam to my pocket.
gr33n3y3z replied: gas prices here is about 2.80 to 2.99 some places 3.15
A&A'smommy replied: wow they are running in between 2.69 (I believe) at murphys all the way to 279 so I guess we are doing pretty good here
coasterqueen replied: Well you have to take into account the city/state taxes when talking about the price per gallon of gas. I know our city tax on gas is outrageous and Illinois in general are way up there in taxes in general on gas and anything else. Otherwise we'd probably be in the $2.70's or so.
Nicole - you seem a little perturbed. I wonder why. J/k.
C&K*s Mommie replied: *GASP!* who me?! If only I could have a minute or two with those people who are getting big, rich & fat off of hard working citizens. Those hard workers that have to rob Peter to pay Paul, to go to a job that is barely paying the bills, having to cut back even more on heating their homes since the electric/gas company is banging down their door wanting their share of the money that only has skyrocketed since the hijacking of oil prices by whoever has control over it , or those same people who are had their livelihood destroyed along the Gulf Coast due to the last major hurricane, who do not know how they are going to make it, but they do and those single mothers who are struggling working two jobs to keep their babies mouths fed, who still have to drive to those said jobs & fill their tanks with money that they truly do not have. Never to ask for a handout from anyone, who earn what they have through hard work, not through underhanded stealing. I would only need a minute to get my point across to 'em.... grrr!
Thanks Karen! I am glad you understood my nonsense in the above post.
lisar replied: Right now where I am gas is up to $2.89 a gallon. I saw on the news lastnight though that they will be up to over three dollars before the end of the weekend. I filled up today so..
