got a ticket - i'm so mad at that cop!!!!!

luvmykids wrote: Ok, I've gotten tickets before and they've always, always, always given me the option to "plead guilty" and mail the payment, or go to court. I always check the box that says no contest and I'll mail the payment, blahblah.gif

Well today I got pulled over and he was telling me when I'd have to go to court. I asked him if he could just check the box that says I agree to the ticket and will mail payment, he says thats not an option. I'm thinking maybe things have changed since the last time I got one or something. Later, looking at the citation, there IS still that option, but I already signed it saying I'd appear in traffic court. So I'm totally peeved that he acted like he'd never heard of just mailing in the fine and now I have to get a babysitter, go downtown and sit all morning, etc. UGH!

The funny thing is I was kinda flustered and accidentally rolled down Kylies window. She asked him what his name was, did he want some animal crackers, and cheerfully asked if he was taking me to jail!

CantWait replied: I would have to ask how many tickets you have gotten?? If it's been more then a couple, then maybe it's not an option at all. I'm sure when he looked up your licence plate, all that information was there. Good Luck.

CAMSMOM1 replied: I agree with Marie, if you have had a few tickets, you may not have that option. I know Justin has had plenty of tickets, and had to do traffic school.
But you can do traffic school online. My Mom just had to do that, it takes a few hours, but at least your at home and don't have to find a babysitter, ect. I would do that if I were you.

Little Kylie, she cracked me up! rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

So how fast were you going? I have a lead foot too, and I'm surprised I've never gotten a ticket. happy.gif So are you going to slow down now? emlaugh.gif

I'm sorry you had to go through this. But traffic school online is the best way to go.

I've gotten 3 in my whole life, and the last one was over 2 years ago.

CAMSMOM1 replied: Yeah, I'm pretty sure you have to go to traffic school. You can call the DMV and see what websites you can do online. You have to let them know you are dong it online.
But 2 in 2 years, in California, you have to do traffic school. Bummer!

gr33n3y3z replied: what did he stop you for?
If it was speeding how fast?
Good Luck

kayla's mama replied: I have the heavist of lead feet. I got 7 in a years time had to get at least 3 of them fixed. Almost got my DL taken away blush.gif I just got my first one in 2 yrs. last week at a $222.50 hit in the pocket book ohmy.gif Sorry I went o.t. blahblah.gif blahblah.gif

I'm surprised that you have to appear in traffic court. Could you possibly call the curcit clerk's office to see if you can just pay the ticket. Good luck!!!

Insanemomof3 replied: I know that here in Oregon, tickets go off your record in 3 years. I would think that the cop was just being a big jerk. Just my take on it though.

My3LilMonkeys replied: I don't really know about the tickets but I'm rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif at Kylie's comments!

luvmykids replied:
Same here, so technically I only have one on my record prior to this one. That's whats got me thinking he's a jerk too.

holley79 replied: How fast were you going? Did he write he ticket for speed or for reckless driving? If ou were going a certain speed over the limit then here in the state of Florida you would have to appear. If it were for reckless driving you would have to appear also.

Best of luck to you. hug.gif

luvmykids replied: Just for speeding, 15 over blush.gif

holley79 replied:
dunno.gif dunno.gif

I think I would contact the courthouse and explain to them the ticket. Tell them you don't want to contest it and see if there is anyway that you can get out of coming to the courthouse for traffic court. 15 over is borderline here. I hope you get it straightened out.

gr33n3y3z replied:
I agree with holley79 call the C.H. and see what they can do

fashionmumofboys replied: Good luck and sorry you got a ticket. hug.gif
