gray hair
cameragirl21 wrote: i was 26, which wasn't all that long ago when i noticed my first gray hair and completely freaked out, asking all my friends who were older than me if they noticed their first gray hair by 26 or if they were younger or older, and all of them said they were younger. but i knew a girl in high school who had a lot of gray hair already, even as a teenager. how old were you and how old were you when you started coloring to cover gray? the reason i ask about coloring is i'm noticing some of the moms of my little models are younger than me but already coloring gray hair regularly, idk, it freaks me out a little. i was told that meditation keeps gray hair at bay, and in all fairness, i get stressed easily and don't think i could sit still long enough to meditate. but a friend of mine says that gray hair is genetic and no amount of meditating with change that. makes sense i guess.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I was 17. now at 25 I would say I am probably 25% gray
CantWait replied: I noticed around 26. I'm 30 now and I have 2 grays that I notice when I look in the mirror. I will be dying them little buggars soon, although it doesn't bother me that much, so long as it's only 2 and not a whole lot more.
I don't think it's completely hereditary, I think a lot depends on stress, whether or not you smoke etc.....
My mom is a heavy smoker and she looks way older then she is.
hoosier momma replied: I'll be 30 next month and I don't have any grey hair yet.
jcc64 replied: I would say my hair is at least 50% gray now- if not more. I of course am no longer sure because I color it before it has a chance to reveal itself too much. My brother, who is a mere 9 months older than I, was completely gray by sophomore year in college. Fighting against some pretty strong genes there.
Calimama replied: I have none and I'm 19.
amymom replied: I was in my teens when I first noticed a gray. My Dad was 100% gray by the time he was 30. I began dying at around 32 or so. I only dye it now about every 6 weeks or so. My hair has a subtle way it colors and it blends in pretty well. I was born with black hair and my hair is now 90% gray. I plan to cut and color tomorrow, maybe I will share a before and after picture. We will see?!?!?
BTW: My mother last round of chemo she lost all her hair, but there was not a gray hair on her head. She was 67. Why oh why did I get my dad's gray.
MomToJade&Jordan replied: A friend of mine plucked a grey hair out of my head on Jade's first birthday, I was 28.
MotherForever2043 replied: I'm 34, and I have yet to see a grey hair
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I'm 30 and still haven't found one. However, I'm not looking too hard and I have light colored hair.
boyohboyohboy replied: I started dying my hair in college.....now I just highlight.
holley79 replied: I haven't had any grey hair yet. I'm 27.
MoonMama replied: I haven't had any yet and I'm 22.
Old Mom Hubbard replied: I forgot, it has been so long ago!
Actually I had my son at 22, and by 27 I counted maybe ten, promptly plucked them out, only to count 100 or more a few weeks later!
