help! i have the stomach flu...
kimberley wrote: and need some relief. anyone else get this while still nursing? they told me just fluids and gravol but that is not helping the stomach pains and living in the washroom. sorry tmi. tia.
kit_kats_mom replied: Oh Kimberly. I'm sorry. That totally sucks.
I caught a mild version of K's rotavirus earlier in the year. I pretty much spent a day or two in bed while my mom and DH took turns taking care of Katherine. They just brought her to me if she needed to be nursed. I just laid there and nursed her then called for them to get her when she was done. I did take phenegran to cut down on the "eliminating". Try to keep hydrated. That's the only advice I have.
amynicole21 replied: UGH!! I totally feel for you Nothing like trying to care for your baby when you feel like crud - trust me, I'm going through it right now. Wish I had some advice for you, but other than keeping hydrated, I guess you just have to wait it out. I'm so sorry
jen replied: ughhhhhhh i'm so sorry kimberley, I hope you get well soon!!
Kaitlin'smom replied: awww I am so sorry yoru not feeling well, sure makes taking care of someone a real chalange....I wish you a speedy recovery
DansMom replied: Get well soon!!
coasterqueen replied: Aww Kimberley . I wish there is something I could say, but I think you just have to ride it out. Keep nursing that baby so she doesn't get it .
A&A'smommy replied: ugh you poor thing I hope you feel better soon!
MommyToAshley replied: Awee, Kimberley, I am sorry you are not feeling well. I don't have any advice either, just some hugs and Get Well wishes!
Hope you are feeling better soon!
jem0622 replied: Sorry that you are sick! Don't forget the BRAT diet when you can keep things down!
HUGS
kimberley replied: thanks everyone for your hugs and advice. i am still feeling pretty weak but at least i am spending less time in the loo. Jamie went back to the pharmacy and told her the gravol wasn't working and she looked up Immodium in her book and it said i could take it while nursing and it seems to have helped a little.
I hope you feel better soon Amy.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Kim there is a number for Mother Risk and I believe they are in Toronto. You can call them and they will be able to tell you what is safe to take while breastfeeding. Hope you feel better soon!
