just thought it was interesting. I'm all for freedom of speach but is this really what you want to be saying at 10 years old??
luvmykids replied: Personally, although it's Halloween and all, there is no way in Hades my girls would be wearing that kind of stuff
grapfruit replied: Apparently the moral fabric of America keeps getting shorter and shorter
grapfruit replied: I also wanted to add...isn't it normally COLD for Begger's Night?? I remember my mom making me wear a coat over my costume (which of course made me mad)
Calimama replied: I've noticed A LOT of the costumes geared to 9-13 age group are a lot more revealing than when I was that age.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: I would never let my children wear costumes like this! Emily has gone as a Witch for the last 11 years, but never a costume like that! Those are just a little to reveiling for little kids.
maestra replied: It's still in the 90s here in Az, so not in every place.
I guess it's just the state of the way clothing is being made for children. There is just as much that I see in the stores that I won't allow my children to wear either.....
luvmykids replied: Definitely....it's so hard to find decent but cute clothes for my stepd, I can't even imagine what it will be like when my other girls are teens
DansMom replied: Yeah, I couldn't believe some of the costumes I saw for little girls at the halloween store. It wasn't just the style of the clothes, but the postures of the models. Makes me sick.
PrairieMom replied: I was just commenting on this when we were trick or treating at the zoo last weekend. The 9 year old girls in front of us were supposed to be witches, but I think they forgot their pants at home. They even had on high heels. nice. Al is gonna hate me when she is that age, and I don't allow her to wear that stuff. It gives me something to look forward too.
A&A'smommy replied: Oh I'm the parent who doesn't let her child play with bratz or other toys that seem to dress "grown up" (including a mcdonalds toy that reminded me of a stripper ) so something like this TICKS me off!!!! WHY would ANY parent let their 10-13 year old dress like that... i know I dress "badly" when I was 16 & 17 but NEVER at 13 years old
stella6979 replied: Unbelievable! Don't Parents realize that when you dress your kids up to look like little adults that "people" are going to look at them as little adults? Makes me sick! And that article is right on. It's not only the costumes they'rewearing, but the expressions on their faces.
luvbug00 replied:
me too mya is NOT allowed to have that kind of doll!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: As you americans tend to say... Halloween costumes in canada are made to fit over a snowsuit....lol
It was pretty nice out today tho. Just a sweater and I was fine.
luvmykids replied: I think that is a big problem....a lot of girls that age don't just dress/act that way on Halloween, they think they ARE sexy at 10 yo, it's becoming an everyday attitude
My2Beauties replied: Really sad IMHO. Hanna and Aubrey will never get to wear stuff like this. They'll probably fight me tooth and nail but hey....mom will prevail. This year Desiree is going to be a baby, she is dressing in a footed pajama suit...thank goodness I remember about 2 years ago she was a genie and the shirt had a little of her belly showing and I even was like wow, I can't believe Staci bought that. The costume had pants and was acctaully really cute, it wasn't sexy at all but I guess genies always have short tops, it didn't show much of her stomach, but I don't think I would have bought it, brian said something about it.
