honey mask - thanks Mon!

PrairieMom wrote: YOu guys, I really think this thing might work! I tried it yesterday, and this morning My face felt improved! ohmy.gif thumb.gif It didn't LOOK different, but I had TONS of tiny bumps that you couldn't see, but you could feel, and those were way better. So, I am going to try it again today.
Yesterday I mixed one reg. strength asprine crushed up with a bit of honey and some oatmeal and left it on for only 5 minutes or so.
today I am using 2 asprine and honey and mixed it with a bit of corn starch so it wouldn't be so runny.

We will have to see what happens! Hopefully nothing bad. unsure.gif rolling_smile.gif

grapfruit replied: How do you get it off????

PrairieMom replied:
with water.

grapfruit replied: rolling_smile.gif I was just thinking, w/honey it'd be REALLY sticky. emlaugh.gif

PrairieMom replied:

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: Raw honey is a great face wash.

mommy~to~a~bunch replied: Honey is awesome for your face! Raw, unheated or unstrained honey is the BEST!

PrairieMom replied:
Where do you get raw honey and what does it look like? I heard that it is better than the regular stuff. I only had Regular organic honey in the bear in my cupboard.

Boys r us replied: recap please!

tell me what you used! My face has been acting up terribly since I had allie! My hormones are all out of whack!

PrairieMom replied:
I think it will take a few weeks for my skin to heal up so I can see any real difference, but it just Feels better today.

I have also read that green tea helps, both drinking it and scrubbing your face with the leaves, so guess what? I'm off to the store to buy green tea. laugh.gif

I don't know if its the season or what my I don't remember my skin ever being so bad. My hormones are wacky too, so maybe thats it.

Boys r us replied: like real oatmeal or can it be instant oatmeal?

holley79 replied: If you have any road side stands or honey farmers need by you can get raw honey. We actually get it at the flea market.

The recipe does work great on your face. Also if you get sunburnt it's great and makes it to where you don't peel.

Hammer and chisel? emlaugh.gif

Let me know how it works, for the last year (since stopping birth control) my face has been HORRIBLE. tongue.gif

luvmykids replied: I'm glad you like it, I just might start swearing by it soon! I use more aspirin and/or less water to make it less runny, I didn't even think of the oatmeal! thumb.gif

Nichole-it's just a mask you make out of uncoated aspirin and honey...some people also use extra virgin olive oil, milk (for the lactic acid), etc. I just put four aspirins in the palm of my hand, a teeny bit of water (like a few drops) to get them dissolving, and honey to make it spreadable. It's really making a difference for me thumb.gif

Boys r us replied: okay Monica, so you're not even using the oats. Good deal..I'll try that starting today! I'm getting desperate! I even bought some proactive, but I'm too lazy to go through all those steps..lol..guess I'm not really that desperate huh..lol

luvmykids replied:
LOl, the proactive works if you're super consistent but I've heard from more than a few people that it stops working at some point...like it did for me, Tara, and some other gals I know.

Sometimes I just use the aspirin by themselves to as a scrub, sometimes I mix it with the Neutrogena acne wash to make a different mask....I think the main thing is just that the aspirin itself is in there somewhere laugh.gif And like I told Tara, it's not instant and dramatic like the proactive but over the course of a few months it's a great improvement and my skin in general just looks and feels way healthier thumb.gif I usually do the scrub in the shower and the mask at night.

eta: I was breaking out in these little tiny bumps on my upper thighs and the back of my arms so I started doing the aspirin scrub there too and it's cleared them up completely biggrin.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Tara, my grocery store has raw honey. It's sort of creamy looking and thicker. It's not runny at all. It's a light brown color and it's grainy b/c it hasn't been heated and processed). The kids LOVE it. It's a great sweetener as well. It's very good for you. It's also pretty expensive (for honey), but cheap for a face mask. wink.gif I think it runs about $7 or so.
