late night at the hospital
luvbug00 wrote: Mya had an allergic reaction ( not severe) and a UTI ( which i was really surprised about because there were no complaints of pain durring peeing.) we got there at arround 9ish and were home by midnight. It's a new hospital and they were awsome! very thourgh. we have to keep an eye on mya for the next coupple days, watch for fever lasting more then 48hrs and more abdominal pain, if she has taht we may be looking at apendex removal. anyway all is ok this morning , she has a fever though. Lars was amazing with calming mya while i delt with the paper load. They kept refering to him as "dad" and mya didn't object once. I had to though when they gave us the id bracelets but they kept calling him that anyway.

luvbug00 replied: some kind of incect bite. her arm swelled to over twice it's size and it was bright red. poor thing was in alot of pain.

Why are they talking appendectomy if her ARM hurts? Thats really odd to me. I would NOT let them do one unless they do an ultrasound or CT or MRI of her belly and SEE that its infected and needs to come out.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: I was just thinking the same thing! A lump on her arm or a UTI is a far cry from needing an appendix removed! I hope Mya feels better soon!
luvbug00 replied:
she had also been sick this past weekend at her dads, vomiting and pain in her stomach. I thought the vomiting was a reaction to maybe some poison becuase i thought maybe her bites were from a spider or somthing. They pushed on her stomach to check if everything was ok and she was very tender where her apendix is. They said the organ itself wan't hard ( which i guess is a sign of apendisitus) but they want me to get her to a DR. by tomarrow to confirm she's ok.
mummy2girls replied: this is what has my head scratching.. if they suspect appendix and showing all signs why not get an ultrasound or however they test it and then get it removed. having it burst is not somethign you want to mess with
A&A'smommy replied: poor girl I hope she feels better soon!!

maybe their weren't enough smptoms?? I don't know. I'll get more details at her dr. appointment. I was really more worried about the massive whelts on her arm and and her allergic reaction which to me took greater importance at the time. I mean If her appendex needed out then ok but i was more concerned about her throwt closing up or somthing kwim.
mummy2girls replied: oh i know dont get me wrong.. iw oudl be concerned more for that but if the doc said to me it could be this as some symptoms show it so make sure you get her in to the doc to make sure she is ok i would be saying please test now and make sure...
stella6979 replied: Just be sure not to give her any acidic foods/drinks until the Dr. has checked her out. If it is appendicitis that will only make it worse. I hope she feels better soon.
luvbug00 replied:
thanks!
MommyToAshley replied: Oh goodness, poor girl is going through a lot right now. Let us know how your appointment goes. I hope it isn't anything serious.
luvbug00 replied: We are going in at 2:50 today so i'll let you know what happens.
Cece00 replied: You may also want to see about her gallbladder. That can cause pain & vomiting as well...unlikely at her age, but you never know...
