music for sleeping?????
ediep wrote: do you put on soft music for your kids to go to sleep? I always did for Jason. I put on one specific CD for bedtime and then I'd put other CD's for naptime. I thought he may get confused if I used the same music for nap time as I did for night.
I started using the same night time CD for Emma and I tried using different music for naptime, but she wouldn't sleep in her crib during the day. Today, I tried using her bedtime music at naptime and she went right to sleep for a nap in her crib this afternoon
so my question is, if you put music on for your kids to sleep do you use the same music for bedtime and naptime? Will it confuse her?
hopefulmomtobe replied: I think music is music and if she is to go to sleep then any music will do. I doubt she cares as long as it is soft sleepy music.
I used to work in a daycare and we always played naptime music, I would switch it up each day and the babies/toddlers never cared, they still went to sleep just the same. It just soothed them to hear something.
Calimama replied: I don't think it will confuse her. I use the same Baby Einstein CD for nap time and for bed and Bella sleeps the same. Although now it's starting to keep her awake.
luvbug00 replied: Mya loved listening to music when she fell asleep. she would listen to disney lulabyes and knock right out. it was really cute. I put the same cd at night. i don't think it will confuse her. i think she will get that soft music ( no matter the time) means sleep.
lovemy2 replied: Dylan always listens to his aqarium thats attached to his crib - can't remember the song but if he fusses when I put him down and I turn that on, as soon as he turns his head and it gets his attention it puts him in an immediate trance
aspenblue1 replied: Both of mine listened to music to go to sleep. I used the same CD for both naps and bed time.
ediep replied: Thanks everyone, that actually helps a lot
I do have the aquarium for her crib, but it doesn't fit because the bumper comes up so high. When I lower the maattress it should fit.
lovemy2 replied: Mine fit over the bumper - try it - put it on the crib and then tuck the bumper behind it.....
MomToJade&Jordan replied: I used to play the aquarium for Jade when I put her down and I do the same now for Jordan. They both liked the same song for sleep time. I don't think she will get confused. She's probably associated the music you play with sleep time.
Kaitlin'smom replied: Kaitlin still likes to listen to music when she is falling asleep. Now she picks but when she was a baby the sound of the ocean usualy did the trick or classical. Now in the car that was a different story when she was a baby, if she was fussy I would say 99% of the time I could play Def Leppard's X album (cd) and that would sooth her almost instand. Its what I listen to all teh time while driving when PG.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I have always played music for my kids during both naptime and bedtime and it's usually the exact same CD...because I'm too lazy to change it. Never have noticed a difference in how they sleep. I think it's just the soft hummmm of the music that they like...doubt they really pickup on the fact they are saying same words, kwim?
Boo&BugsMom replied: When Tanner was a baby he had the aquarium from fisher price. He loved it. As he got older I put in music for him. He still listens to music every night and he's almost 5. Sometimes the radio and other times a CD. If it's the radio it's usually the local Christian music station. When he was younger it was soft lullaby music. Now that he's older he thinks it's "boring" and wants his CD's or other music. He usually picks one song from his CD he wants to listen to and repeats the same song over and over again ALL night. But hey...he goes to sleep, and I guess that's all that matters.
