my baby isn't moving - .......

The baby was moving ok last night after dinner....but I went to bed early, and I didn't get woken up last night by kicks, and this morning, it hasn't moved yet either.
I'm getting worried - I've been eating sweet things to see if that will get it going... a banana, some hot chocolate, a chocolate bar, and 2 hard candies
Nothing yet....when should I call my OB?
amynicole21 replied: I would call just to ease your mind. A glass of wine wouldn't cause something like that, so don't worry about that... If nothing else, they'll just do some monitoring. S/he's probably running out of room by now too!
ediep replied: oj, ice cream, and/or cookies always made Jason move while I was pregnant. You could try those or just give a call to your ob, just to be sure. I'm sure that the baby is fine, and the glass of wine just made him/her sleepy
scotianygirl23 replied: I am sure everything is ok, like someone else said, the room for the baby to move is slowly getting smaller 9actually I should say slowly, I think its going by pretty fast)..But I am sure everything is great
aspenblue1 replied: I would probably call and just check with your ob. Just to be on the safe side, but I am sure everything is fine.
MomofTay&Sam replied: Call to be safe, but I recall those *quiet* times too. They can be very nerve racking. Sending you some hugs.....
jcc64 replied: OJ, and ice cold water, then lie down and be still. This used to happen to me all the time. During a non stress test, it took them 2 hours to wake the baby up, with lots of various attempts. Try not to worry, and if too much time goes by, call to ease your mind.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Thanks everyone... I sat very very still in my chair for about 20 minutes... then I felt a little tiny thump.
I'm not as wrried as I was earlier.... but if by noon I haven't really felt anything else, I'm calling my OB!
~CrazieMama~ replied: try orange juice. it works wonders to get a baby to move. Call your o/b to ease your mind though. But I am sure it is nothing. Maybe the baby moved and you just had not noticed it. If you are active, you may not feel the baby move. HTH keep us updated.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I'm not active at all during the day.... my butt is getting larger every day, due to the fac tthat I spend 8 hours sitting on it... lol
Then I get home and sit on the couch to watch tv...
I'm not a very active person at all. lol!
DH has to force me to get out and take a walk with Zach!!! (I make him come too!)
But the baby has been moving a lot more since this morning. I've been counting movements....and since I woke up, I've felt 6 in 5 hours. So I'm sitting on a full bladder - I seem to feel it move better when I have to pee...
mckayleesmom replied: Mckaylee use to do that all the time...she hardly ever kicked my whole pregnancy,,,actually she didn't kick,,,she hit with her hands. I usually would take a bath and she would decide to go swimming,,to this day bathtime is her favorite.
Mommieto2Girls replied: I'm so glad to hear baby is moving. They have there quiet times to. Try not to worry.
A&A'smommy replied: Great to hear she?he? is moving again!!! When are you due?
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I'm due in 12 weeks. December 23rd!

Cant' wait....except the doctor told me she was probably going to come earlier. Zach was 5 days early....he said to expect this baby by December 16th... eek!
MomToJade&Jordan replied: I actually remember having days like that. I asked my OB about it and she said that sometimes babies will have a down day and that as long as you are feeling some movements that it's all right. The baby is starting to run out of room in there now so it isn't as easy to move around as before. Jade would get moving after I would eat oatmeal. I am glad to hear that the baby started to move for you.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Glad to hear that the baby is moving. Sorry I missed this post earlier. But so gald to hear that everything seems to be okay!
A&A'smommy replied: wow thats so exciting!!! I cant wait either due in about 51/2 weeks!!
MommyToAshley replied: I must have missed your post earlier... sorry. But, so glad to hear the baby is moving again. What a relief.
At 36 weeks, I went to the doc because I hadn't felt Ashley move all day and it was sooo not like her. I did as you did and tried OJ, cookies, and laid down in bed on my left side. I called my OB and told them I wanted them to check the baby out... my OB was in delivery but the nurse/technician said she'd do an U/S. This was around 3 pm and I still hadn't felt Ashley move. I got there, and laid on the table and before she even pulled out the U/S machine, Ashley started kicking really hard and you could see my belly wiggling! I felt embarassed , but the nurse did an U/S anyways to check the fluid and everything was fine. I left happy because I knew everything was ok and I got to see my baby again!
CantWait replied: yes I missed your post earlier too. Sorry to hear you had such a scare, I'm glad that the baby is moving for you now though. If ever in doubt, call your o.b. They should be happy to check for you. Also my doc said to expect Anthony earlier since Robbie was 5 weeks early, however he came a day late. You just never know.
