PrairieMom wrote: I finally finally got my garden finished. I had to rebuild the retaining wall 3 times. growl.gif Then I had that 4 tons of dirt to drag back there, only to find out that I probably need 8 MORE tons. Yeah. that is going to wait until next year. rolleyes.gif tongue.gif So, i finally planted it, and here is the final result of all my hard labor.

We put in 3 raspberries, 2 blueberries, asparagus, rhubarb, strawberries, cucumbers, peas, red and yellow onions, garlic, dill, and Benjamin's pumpkin, and watermelon.

moped replied: Oh how nice - you did a great Job and Ben too!

kit_kats_mom replied: That looks awesome. What a lot of hard work. thumb.gif

lisar replied: It looks great. Wanna come and build me one??? biggrin.gif

BabyOwen427 replied: You guys did an awesome job! I love the wall, how it flows with the slope of the land. You got to have some talent to be able to do that yourself, I don't think I could build a wall that looked that good tongue.gif

I just had one thought though, on your watering. The higher up into the air your sprinkler shoots the water the more chance it has to evaporate and in turn less water hits your plants. You might think about laying a soaker hose or something that trickles water right next to the plants. Just something to think about wink.gif

Looks good. thumb.gif High five to Ben for doing such a good job!

Miranda1127 replied: looks great. good luck

Kaitlin'smom replied: thumb.gif WTG good job, I have been working on redoing my landscaping in the front, almost done then to get some mulch wacko.gif I got one section done and Kaitlin planted a bunch of flower seads and a grape tree, we have tons of little sprouts, she is very excited.

PrairieMom replied:
Thanks for the idea. I don't like the sprinkler that I have one there either. it just happens to be the sprinkler that I own laugh.gif the soaker hose is a good idea. thumb.gif

luvbug00 replied: cool! thumb.gif i wish i had a back yard...

My dh and I are thinking of starting a landscape irrigation business. He went to school for landscaping and he loved the irrigation part of it.

gr33n3y3z replied: looks Great Tara thumb.gif

CantWait replied: Awesome job Tara. Look exactly how I wanted mine this year. I'm not that up for the task though. emlaugh.gif

amymom replied: The rasberries, strawberries and asparagus will come back every year. Won't they????

It looks wonderful. I will be there at harvest time to EAT!! tongue.gif

PrairieMom replied:
yup, and the rhubarb too. I won't get any berries off the blueberries until at least next year, I won't be able to harvest the asparagus or rhubarb until the year after next. I probably won't get any raspberries this year either, maybe next year. BUT I will get my onions, spices, cucumber and some strawberries .
