I know what you mean when you say you felt like you were the only one BF... none of my friends or family BF and I was a little scared when I was PG. But, it turns out the be the best thing I ever could have done for my daughter. You'll find lots of BF mommies here. (And, they are nice, intelligent, and supportive) They have been wonderful support for me.

This is a wonderful board we have so much fun here and LOVE new mommies and daddies or whatever point you are at becoming one (ttc or pg)! Also they girls that to breastfeed are WONDERFUL and have lots of knowledge i couldnt breastfeed my angel and it broke my heart but when i was trying they were soooo helpful! i hope you decided to stick around this is a great bunch of people!

jcc64 replied: Hi and welcome! I am Jeanne, working mom of 3, including a 16 month old who's still nursing. I nursed all 3 kids for at least a year, and everyone else I know also nursed. I find it hard to believe that will all the literature available these days on the superiority of breast milk that bf is still an anomaly in some places. I mean, it's not cutting edge science. I realize it's not practical or possible for some people, but I truly believe that the majority of those who don't or can't nurse do so because they weren't given the proper support, encouragement, information. It's a shame, really. Anyway, I'm glad to hear you bucked the trend in your neighborhood for the sake of your baby. Welcome to the club.

I am Tammy (32) dh is Keoki (26) and ds is Taven (17 months)..I too am still breastfeeding and I can totally relate..most people when they find out I'm still breastfeeding look at me like I'm from mars or something so i've learned to not broadcast it anywhere..is this a sad sad society we live in or what?

My name is Mollie 27, my DH is Shane; I have 3 boys from my first marriage: Logan 10, Quentin8, and Ethan 4. DH & I have a daughter together, Hannah Rose 20 months. I'm expecting again in March. Hannah is still BFing, more than ever. LOL, I think she really likes the colostrum, since that's all I got now! I'm really hoping to tandem nurse but we'll see. DH thinks I'm nuts, LOL!
