When passing a 16 wheeler or somthing do you do the "honk your horn" arm signal??
oh and another question, do you know any drivers and their thoughts on it??
C&K*s Mommie replied: I used to as a kid. Chris who used to drive long haul, would get a kick out of kids doing that. He would be sure to "honk" for them, when he saw them motioning for it.
my2monkeyboys replied: Well, first off they're 18 wheelers, usually, not 16 wheelers. LOL (Sorry, just had to!) My husband is an owner/operator truck driver, and he always honks if someone does that. He thinks it's cool, esp. when kids or hot chicks do it. I think that is the general consensus among drivers, though there is the occasional a-hole that hates it. Of course, those guys are generally a-holes all of the time anyways, so who cares what they think!?! I think it's cool, too, if that makes a difference. I remember doing it going on long trips in my grandfather's rv when we were younger...
boyohboyohboy replied: my dh is also a truck driver, and says he enjoys doing it for kids who make that sign.

punkeemunkee'smom replied: Nadia~ You crack me up! Bill loves it when kids do it...He will blow his train horns at them sometimes-they always get a kick out of that!
Crystalina replied: My DH has been driving for 14 yrs. He just loves it when the kids do that. Most of his friends are drivers also and they actually look for kids. You have to realize that most of them (Like my DH) are in that darn truck for 85-90% of the day. They enjoy little distractions like that. My DH gets upset when a child does it and he can't blow his air horn like when he's in a big town or there is alot of traffic. The child doesn't understand that he has to watch the road and he'll see their poor little faces but the car goes by so quickly. He has to watch the road though. He has driven for 14 yrs and has only gotten one ticket. He got pulled over at a scale and they found his radar detector. He doesn't usually use it but you cannot have it in the truck. He has taught the kids to do the "blow your air horn" arm. He even does it when he's in the car with me.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: As an after thought Nadia-You probably made that drivers day....I am sure the radio was burning up with his "You should have just seen this pretty gal that had me honk at her!"
my2monkeyboys replied: No doubt! Like I said, my DH loves it when kids or HOT CHICKS do that!
Crystalina replied: Oh yea! You gotta loves the hot chicks. Man, have I heard some stories there.
my2monkeyboys replied: I bet those include some flashing and maybe even full nudity, huh! Folks are crazy!
A&A'smommy replied: LOL well sometimes yes.. and I know a truck driver but I haven't talked to him about anything like that.. I will ask him next time I see him.. it will be a while though
A&A'smommy replied: ROFL I have heard some "stories" too its crazy!!!
coasterqueen replied: OMG, heck yes I do that still.
My uncle was/is a truck driver. Well, he was my uncle. The uncle who was the husband to my aunt who took her life last year....enough said.
Never asked him his thoughts on the subject.
luvmykids replied: I haven't done it in a long time but as a kid I did it to every truck we passed on the road
Kaitlin'smom replied: used to do that as a kid loved when they honked back. My FIL drives a truck and I have never asked him about it.
Crystalina replied: They are nuts! They will do it so the truckers CAN see them. You know, as long as he's being entertained and brings a smile to his face then I'm all for it. That dirty dog.
luvbug00 replied: Oh I've done that other thing too after some liquid currage.
redchief replied: This practice (the arm gesture) is almost universal with kids and firetrucks. Our drivers and officers nearly always (with few ordered exceptions) comply, to the obvious delight of the kids. No one ever asks me to do that in my little old chief's car.
kimberley replied: no i just drive as fast as i can cuz they freak me out!
