ok, choose your talent

cameragirl21 wrote: ok, choose your talent, if you could wake up tomorrow extremely gifted in some talent, what would it be?
i chose dancer...i can already write, play an instrument and take pictures really well but i've never been really great when i took ballet lessons...i was good but not great.
but as for dance, at this point in my life, i'd rather be a great hip hop dancer than a ballerina. tongue.gif

CantWait replied: It's hard to pick for me, it would either be photographer or dancer. I think dancer though.

redplaydoh replied: Photographer... I'd love to have the talent to capture wonderful shots of the kids and other special moments, to record memories in a special way.

stella6979 replied: Ever since I can remember, I've wanted to play the piano, but my parents never took me seriously. I'd love to be musically inclined. biggrin.gif

cameragirl21 replied:
can't argue with that. wink.gif

cameragirl21 replied:
that's really a shame. i played classical piano for 10 years...my family is very musical and i was sent to piano lessons as soon as my parents could afford them, along with a piano of course. i went through lots of performances and competitions.
the thing is, i chose dancer because when i competed in piano i knew i'd win everytime BUT with dance i didn't even bother competing because i knew i wouldn't win, so why bother? sad.gif
btw, you can still play the piano...get a piano, think of it as an investment for Avery for when she gets older and meanwhile you can start piano lessons. it's never too late! smile.gif

HuskerMom replied: I choose writer. I try to write but it never turns out as good as I want it.

stella6979 replied:
That is so true. Right now a piano is really not in our budget, but I would like to get one eventually so that Avery can start lessons when she's old enough. I have a friend who teaches piano, so maybe we could learn together. wub.gif

cameragirl21 replied:
just fyi, you can get a used piano for very little on Craig's List or some local church who's getting a new one and needs to get rid of the old, etc.
you'll just have to get it tuned up.
i knew a guy who threw away a really old Steinway...it said Steinway and Sons on it, that's how old it was, i was livid...how can anyone throw away a piano?! growl.gif

stella6979 replied:
Hmmm...I never thought to check Craig's list. I'll take a look and see what I can find. Thanks for the idea.

amynicole21 replied: I chose painting... I'm so shy, I would hate to have to perform in front of people. blush.gif

DansMom replied: I chose actor---Theater was my first major in college before switching to English. But I must add that in the dream scenario, I get offered roles in musicals, because I can also sing ballads so poignantly that people cry... and I can dance too, because one has to do that in musicals, you know. tongue.gif

Right now I'm fantasizing about performing "I love you a bushel and a peck" from Guys and Dolls...

MomToJade&Jordan replied: Well I can all ready sing opera. It was my principle instrument in college so I chose the piano. I know enough on the piano to plunk stuff out if need be (I had to take classes to get my degree), but I would like to be able to sit down look at a piece of music and just play. I tell all of my parents that the piano is the best instrument to start with because it trains the ear.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: I picked designer... I love thinking about clothes to make...and though I do design and crochet some baby clothes, I'd love to be more well known for it and possibly even make al iving from it.

because I already play several instruments, and I'm classically trained for most of them. I teach piano and violin a couple evenings a week in my home. I used to sing at social events all the time... and stopped, though the last 2 years I've had a couple weddings I was asked to sing and/or play the piano and/or violin at, and another one coming up in a couple months.

because I took ballet lessons when I was young, then I took tap, jazz, salsa and ballroom dancing throughout my teenage years.

because I can do charcoal and pastel portraits, and can draw pretty well

I don't care much for acting... I'm just not a very convincing actress. I cant even lie without getting caught. tongue.gif

Photography would have been my second choice...

mummy2girls replied: i dont have any of the above talents so i guess im not talented:(

OH wait..I can put both my feet behind my back is that a talent?

cameragirl21 replied:
Shelly, the idea is not to have any of the talents on the list but rather to choose the one you wish you had.
the reason some of us are listing the talents we already have is to explain why we're choosing the one we are choosing.

Calimama replied: I chose designer!

C&K*s Mommie replied: Painter for me. So I could create murals in my spare time.

Since I was little wanted to become an interior decorators (back then they had designers and decorators) and a freelance writer, but I tried to hone my skills to no avail. I gave up on both dreams a long time ago. I also cannot draw a stickfigure worth a hoot, anyhow let alone design a room in entirety by sketching it. laugh.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I voted pianist or play some type of instrument. I can paint, I can dance, I take photos okay, I am an okay designer and I like to write sometimes. I stink at sculpting though and I can't do a cartwheel to save my life, so gymnist is out. So yes, I would love to be able to play the piano...singing wouldn't be bad either!!! biggrin.gif
