ok, is this abuse?
Anthony275 wrote: a boy in my class today went to go wash his hands and the teacher slapped him across the face, twizted his arm, threw his bookbag and cursed him off. all the councelors came up and the psych. came up to the room. next period class the teacher (hes an aide) gets called out by one of the principals to write a letter on why he did it or something. one boy in my class asked what happened and the teacher brought him to the office. the kid came back, but the aide didnt and he wasnt in the next & last class of the day
is this counted as abuse? i dont see why this is so wrong to go over to the sink
Insanemomof3 replied: Ummm whether he is allowed to go wash his hands or NOT there is NO reason for a teacher or a teachers AIDE to slap a child across the face, OR twist an arm and definetly cursing at him. OMG I would be LIVID.
That person should be fired.
Boo&BugsMom replied: Um...yeah! That's physical force used by a teacher in an abusive manner. This is high school right? I hope the student speaks up about it. That's uncalled for.
luvmykids replied: Uh, yeah, that would be abuse. What led up to it? I mean, did the kid mouth off on the way to the sink or something? I'm not saying that in any way would justify it, just curious how it all went down?
stella6979 replied: I would have called the police right when it happened and had that teacher walk out in kuffs in front of the entire school.
Anthony275 replied: the boy did, he went to the office and told them. he came into our room and told us he's never going in there again. our other teachers are in a different room and they came out to talk to the aide that was in the room when it happened (2 aides per room) but i think the kid left after that period to go to the other building
Anthony275 replied: he walked up to the sink to wash his hands. i do it all the time and nobody notices it
Boo&BugsMom replied: So what was the big deal with him washing his hands? Is this kid a big trouble maker? Just trying to understand why a teacher would go that far. Odd.
Calimama replied: Is there some details you're missing? It makes no sense a teacher would react like that over someone washing their hands. Poor kid.
holley79 replied: They better terminate.
How old was this kid?
Kentuckychick replied: I have a feeling we aren't getting the whole story. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you're not telling the story the way you know it Furries since it's unlikely that even those in the room know exactly what led up to the incident, just saying that I'm sure there's more to it than the boy simply walking up to the sink to wash his hands.
Regardless of what the boy did though, the behavior of the aide was inexcusable and he should be held on criminal abuse charges. I'm all for kids not being able to get away with bad behavior and I think this day in age they are allowed to get away with FAR too much, but there is a right way and a wrong way to deal with behavior problems and people like that aide are exactly why teachers are not allowed to discipline students at all anymore! It's a sad world we live in.
gr33n3y3z replied: Sorry never seen an aide in high school before New York schools are not closed today? But anyway to the point it is abuse
Boo&BugsMom replied: Only time I've seen them is in the alternative school classes, the classes for troubled teens.
BAC'sMom replied: Regardless of what happen the teacher was way of base and should’ve NEVER touched the child. If I was the child’s parent I would be pissed
gr33n3y3z replied: I was going to say that lol
Boo&BugsMom replied: That's why I was wondering about the boy's past behavior. Not that I condone abusive behavior, esp. from a teacher, but I've seen some of those "sassy" (to put it politely) high schoolers in those classes. Some are down right abusive themselves, and dangerous.
Anthony275 replied: the kid dosent talk, he's well behaved and disciplined. he just does his work. hes 16
it's like a resource class. hes the teacher for resource but hes the aide for math class and science, etc. all the teachers from the resource rooms went out of the room and talked to the aide in the room where it happened that is all that happened. as soon as i stepped out of that room he got hit. he didnt mouth off the teacher or anything, (the teacher cursed him off though) he washed his hands and got hit. but still he shouldnt had been hit no matter what he did
oh i had off tuesday and im off monday this week i prolly didnt have off today because its too many within a short span and plus thanksgiving is 2 weeks
A&A'smommy replied: Um yeah I would say that is abuse, doesn't honestly matter at all what the kid did (unless he pulled a weapon, or threw a punch) so yeah that teacher needs to go!
Kentuckychick replied: Couldn't agree more!
And I was wondering what's the deal with all these schools being out. Many schools weren't even out for election day here in Kentucky.
lisar replied: If it was my kid that got slaped they would never find the teachers body. Sorry. I would be so mad.
Anthony275 replied: mine was tuesday (teachers still had to go in) and monday is vets day
My2Beauties replied: Jefferson County school were closed, but a lot of our schools are where polling places are.
Something still is fishy about this, I don't think we know what happened prior to that going on.
Kentuckychick replied: You're right, the preschool was in because it's at the university. Come to think of it Fayette co. probably was out too. Everyone I babysit for goes to private school and they're almost never out on those days, I think that's why I was confused.
gr33n3y3z replied: yeah the local public schools had off for Teacher something day on Wed. - Friday all but kaitlins school but they had off Thursday and today
Private schools had school all week and will be off on Moday while public schools will be in school Monday
Anthony275 replied: the thing is it's weird that he would over react at that, for something like washing your hands but the teacher is strange and he does creep me out. i hope his parents do something with the school and obviously with this guy
