ovulation cramps?

Danalana wrote: Alright, i have had one regular period since my miscarriage at the end of December/early January. That was January 20th, and it was pretty short, which isn't really too uncommon for me. Anyway, we started trying on the 26th and have done it every night since. Well, for the last couple of days, I have been having cramps...sort of like it would be before my period. But I think I ovulated a couple of days ago. I had a surge in temperature a few days go, and it has stayed up. I have had twinges when I was ovulating, but it was never what felt like AF cramps. They're gone now, but I just wondered if any of you have cramps when you ovulate...?

moped replied: OH YES - sometimes the ovulation cramps hurt more than period cramps.......on the weekend they were so bad.

Anyways, yes I do get those.

I never know if you should have sex while you feel them or way before.........

At least you now when you ovulate. That is a good thing!

Danalana replied: Yes, I'm thankful for that. I want to be pregnant so bad...not just having a baby, but carrying a life inside me. After my loss, I'm sort of afraid to have a positive test...I had so many before, even after I had miscarried, cause the HCG stays up for a while. I know God's gonna give me children, I just get scared sometimes.
As for the cramps, it was weird. I have terrible, kick-your-butt cramps when i'm on my period, but i usually don't cramp when i ovulate. Anyway, thanks Jen smile.gif

moped replied:
Then that is another good sign. I will cross my fingers for you!

moped replied: Wait - if you had a period on Jan 20, which should be day 1, wouldn't you start trying around Feb 3-5? For the 12-14 day of cycle???

Danalana replied: trust me, my mind has gone to "maybe it is implantation cramps!!!!"...but it seems like it couldn't happen that soon. I hate when my mind does this...creating all this hope. But I guess hope is what keeps us going.

Danalana replied:
well, normally, yes. but my period was way early after the miscarriage. But I monitored CM and everything, so I know i was fertile a few days ago. Or maybe i'm just really messed up... unsure.gif

moped replied: How do you monitor CM?

Danalana replied: You use your finger or toilet paper. It's supposed to be really thick and sticky after AF...it starts increasing in volume as you get closer to ovulation. RIGHT BEFORE ovulation, it becomes slippery and very much resembles raw egg white. That's so that the sperm can swim freely to the cervix. If you have questions, I have done a lot of studying!

Danalana replied: you can also google "cervical mucus"...it tells all about it...probably much better than I did.

moped replied:
I would be interested actually..........

I will never know how it happened for us twice so darn easily and now I can't.

Anyways, I would like to talk about that - PM me please.

I am signing off for tonight but look forward to chatting about it tomorrow maybe!

Danalana replied: biggrin.gif PMed!

dizoney replied: Hi Dana Lana. I actually did a search on google about ovulation cramps and found your post on this blog so I joined smile.gif I am going thru the exact same thing you are, without the miscarriage. I am on CD 11 now. I usually have a cycle that is around 77 days long. My DH and I have a 2 year old son and are ttc #2 for about 7 months now. I am on Clomid, this is cycle 3. I have had the strangest cramps- like af is about to arrive. I am going to ask my doctor about an u/s today to ease my mind. I have not had a +OPK since I began TTC but this cycle I have had a lot of watery CM, so I don't know what to believe!! Good luck! biggrin.gif

Danalana replied: I hope it's good news for you!

moped replied:
WOW - your cycle is 77 days long............

please keep us posted

A&A'smommy replied: Yes and sometimes they are worse than period cramps!!!

hopefulmomtobe replied:

I always thought that fertility meds like Clomid regulated your ovulation times and af???

dizoney replied: Actually since I was about 15 I have had wacky cycles. I have PCOS, thus explaining the anovulatory cycles. Clomid works for some people. This is my thrid cycle- 7th month- on it, and nothing seems to be triggering ovulation. It's kinda heartbreaking. But I know I am not alone
