sex during pregnancy - possibly TMI

PrairieMom replied: I never like to have it, so we really didn't do much when I was PG. like, 2 times in 9 months. I didn't have pain tho.

lesliesmom replied: I don't know what it was but I had a similar problem this last pregnancy. Always ached and sore some during it and the next day was terrible. Think it might be a hormonal thing.

MyLuvBugs replied: The stinging sounds like you might be a little dry down there. KY is VERY helpful for that. With my first, I was sorta like that in the second trimester. I didn't get the urge to have sex until 7 months and by then I was so huge that no position was comfy or worked well. KWIM?

However......this time is the complete opposite and DH has been a VERY happy boy until we were told to stop b/c of all our pre-labor signs. Now we're both trying other ways of being intimate. Maybe that's what your BF needs. Just some other way to be "close" to you. Just a suggestion.

jcc64 replied: I sorta remember being sore down there, but it was more of an ache from the pressure, later on the pg. I think it's normal, and it's your prerogitive to say no if it's not pleasurable, but a considerate partner would maybe "finish him off" in other ways, if you know what I mean.

I dont really have any advice though, other then do everything but Thats what we have been doing DH was irritated at first, but now as long as his ummmm needs are taken care of hes happy.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Well your VJJ (as you call it LOL!) is swollen during your PG, so that could be why. Also, you may check to see if you have an infection of some kind. I didn't want to have sex during my PGs either. It's pretty normal.

I usually LOVE sex, pregnant or not...but I am BIG right now & for the past like 6 wks its been REALLY hard for DH & I to have sex. I'm still really attracted to him & vice versa , though my libido is a little lower than normal, probably b/c of the meds I am on for my kidney & I am sooooo tired lately, but I still WANT to have sex pretty regularly (though not as much as last time), but honestly...its next to impossible to enjoy it like I did before I got big & preggo. I still enjoy it but when we spend 1/2 the time trying to find a way to make it work better...well, it can be distracting.

We didnt have this trouble until the last 3-4 wks with Natalie, so it sucks that it happened so early this time.

Both of us say we cant WAIT til the baby comes out to resume a normal sex life.

When we have sex for awhile, though, sometimes my vagina gets more swollen & the pressure from it being swollen kinda aches/hurts BUT if something stings, I think maybe you tore a little. I'd use PLENTY of lube & see how that works. Or not, if you dong feel like doing the deed.

Jackie, I'm not sure for certain but you could be dry. If you really want to try, get out the KY. Otherwise, your body will come to you (and him). As Jeanne said, there are other "ways" to be intimate with your partner without penetration in your uncomfy spots. Your lack of desire certainly isn't abnormal in any way either emotionally or physically. Look at it this way; sexual stimulation and desire are basically a reproductive drive response. You've fulfilled the basic need to reproduce and your body is in "make baby grow" mode. Second trimester was always a little on the "slow" side for us in bed. As with some of the others third tri got interesting and we learned a great deal about how do take care of those needs with some degree of comfort.

Good luck, and I wouldn't worry, you sound absolutely normal to me.

C&K*s Mommie replied: Yep, I could not tolerate sex whatsoever in the 2nd trimester of our both PG's. It ended up being few and far between.

My mind worrying about our baby in the third trimester , was often a mood killer, but the pain was not as great as it was in the second trimesters of both.

We were pretty "active" before the baby so the pregnancy has changed that.

I haven't experienced PAIN, you may be dry like everyone has already told you.

Yeah I think last time was the deal breaker, now DF doesn't even barely come near me and hasn't even tried to get into my pants since LOL... gotta say I don't mind it too much. Even though the pukeys stopped, my face is all broken out, I have this overall feeling of grossness, my bbs hurt all the time and I feel VERY undesirable to say the least!

I guess it's just so weird the multitude of changes that happen to your body when you become pg... I used to make fun of my mom because she would always say "I never had skin tags until I had you" or "I never blah blah blah until I had you"... Jeeze now I know what she means!
