so..............get this kid outta me!!!!! - help me.......

Hillbilly Housewife wrote: ......to get this kid born already.

Old wives tales, tried and tested methods....

foods....
car rides...
excercises....

gimme something to work with!!!

The only 2 things I will not do are the cohosh, and the castor oil. Anything else is fair game... I want this kid OUT!

I'm just about 37 weeks....and my doctor told me that if I go into labor now, they won't stop the labor. I'm tired, I'm cranky, I'm a total nightmare to be around..my kids are scared of me, my DH is walking on egg shells.... I'm ready to be normal again, instead of being this emotional train wreck.

Please give me some suggestions!

Oh and particular restaurants won't work for me - I live in Canada, so the eggplant parmesan thing is out. wink.gif

luvbug00 replied: what about the whoopie? that accedently worked for me.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Whoopie, a walk and sitting at a basketball game worked for me.

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: change in elevation...are there mountains arround you?

Pitocin was the only thing that got labor going for me but my friend hiked Pikes Peak (highest point in the local mountains) and then her water broke 4 hours later.

Good luck

Hillbilly Housewife replied:

Yeah... I'm going to start doing that every day

A&A'smommy replied: UGH I'm sorry I remember that feeling ALL TOO well!! i hope she comes soon!! hug.gif

CantWait replied: So sorry, hoping the next three weeks fly by for ya.

Mommy2BAK replied: ahh, the wonderful days of waiting dry.gif

I heard rocking in a rocking chair (something about the motion)

I walked every night and I don't think that helped me one bit seeing as how I was induced

kimberley replied: ride an exercise bike lol. i did that and went up and down stairs for an hour and went into labor the next morning. happy.gif

others i've heard are pineapple (ya right), raspberry tea, EPO in the cervix, and of course nookie lol. good luck. hope Naomie comes soon! hug.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Well...I can say that I've tried everything that's been suggested so far....

(other than the pitocin)

I even went for a drive with the kids and DH this morning, in the mountains...

lol

can you tell I'm desperate?? lol

ediep replied: why don't you order eggplant parm from a pizza place...that worked for me
fresh pineapple
rasberry leaf tea
walking

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I'm sorry to say this, but I think they are tales for a reason. Some seem to work, but IMO, it's only coincidence. I would say relax and it will probably happen when you least expect it. I do think walking is probably the best bet though....at least it can help get your mind off of things and help you relax. Good luck!

kimberley replied: oh ya, i forgot a big one... nipple stimulation! this WILL get contractions going but may not be regular. be careful cuz this can make baby come!

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Eggplant parm isn't a regular dish up here in the north... lol I'd most likely have to buy the ingredients and find a good recipe, at least it would be quicker than trying to find a restaurant that does this.....

blush.gif

Yeah, tales they may be.... but hey... placebo effect... if you THINK it's working, then it kinda will...no?

emlaugh.gif

I am doing a lot of walking... my feet end up hurting though. rolleyes.gif

And nipple stimulation.... DH has been helping me out with this too... they're REALLY sensitive now. I just about have to walk around with my hands holding my shirt away... just the rubbing of cloth on skin is kinda painful blush.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: Well how about telling her its time to come and met us all? laugh.gif Sorry I never had this frustration I told Kait any time after the 27th was good, weel the little bugger put me in labor on the 27th and was born on the 28th. I can tell you the ngiht before we had gone to the mall but I could not walk much, I was sollen to much, so he pushed me around in a wheelchair, labor started the next am, stopped by the time I got to the hospital, went home took a nap and my water broke laugh.gif

good luck

Come out Naomi and met us

TeagansMom609 replied: Just be patient. Your ONLY just about 37 weeks. Babies are in their for 40 weeks for a reason! If they were meant to come at 37 weeks they would. Just hang in there.

My3LilMonkeys replied: My uncle is a shiatsu (sp?) massage therapist and he told me that foot massages can bring on contractions/labor. It didn't work for me but maybe it would for you....have someone vigorously massage your entire foot, concentrating on the pressure point just below your big toe.

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
Oh I know.... I'm just really tired of this... lol rolling_smile.gif

Maybe I can get DH to give me a foot rub though.... biggrin.gif

coasterqueen replied:
I totally agree! That baby will come out when it's ready. I never buy all those things that people say help baby come out. Baby will come out when it's done and ready to. 'Prying' one out too early isn't good for baby or parents wink.gif. I know the feeling, though, of wanting baby out. But as you already know that feeling will go away quickly and then you will be sad and wish you were pregnant again. tongue.gif Or at least a lot of women feel that way.

Mommy2BAK replied:
I totally agree! thumb.gif

MyLuvBugs replied: Walk. It totally worked for me. I started walking about a mile a day the two weeks before I was due. I've also heard that sex works wonders, but at the end of a pregnancy I don't know who would be in the mood for sex. laugh.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied:
I always wondered that also....
