speaking of photography....

All politics aside, I do think they should have retouched her face...I didn't see the magazine up close so I don't know how bad it is but I'll trust those 2 women and say that it should have been retouched, that's not nice. I like the crop though, it's interesting except I wish they'd cropped in closer to remove her other eye...it's a bit freaky to me to see part of one eye.
A&A'smommy replied: I completely agree should have retouched, I agree with the crop
luvbug00 replied: i think it benifits sarah it reminds us that she is human. she is normal like the rest of us and who needs a retuched vp??
A&A'smommy replied: VERY good point Nadia!!!
mckayleesmom replied: Until we hear from her..I'm not going to be angry about it. Maybe she didn't want to be touched up and fake.
cameragirl21 replied: I should add--republican strategists are livid about this so I'm pretty sure that an unretouched face up close is not what Palin wanted at all. I'm also 100% sure that Newsweek didn't consult her before going to print.
DVFlyer replied: Their complaint seems a bit far-fetched to me.
I just saw a magazine cover with Henry Paulson- full face- blown up to completely cover... the cover. We're talking MUCH closer than the Palin photo. Didn't hear of anyone angry about that?
AlexsPajamaMama replied: I agree with Nadia
My3LilMonkeys replied: I see no reason for retouching, on this photo or really any photo in any magazine.
MommyToAshley replied: I can see the reason for the outrage to some extent. If Obama's photo was retouched or taken in a more flattering way by the same magazine in an attempt to make him look more presidential then all candidates should receive the same treatment. It should be either retouch them all or don't retouch any of them. Let's face it, a person's appearance does play a tiny role in our opinion of them whether it is subconscious or not, and whether we admit it or not. It shouldn't but I happen to think it does. Just like food that looks better tastes better, even if it is prepared the exact same way but presented differently.
redchief replied: Newsweek being what it is I'm not surprised they put such an unflattering picture on the cover. That being said, whether you like her, agree with her or whatever you think about her, she holds up under that close scrutiny pretty well. My face would have looked like an overhead shot of the Grand Canyon and Mt. Vesuvius Photoshopped together.
lisar replied: I think the media needs to find something else to talk about besides something like this.
