My2Beauties replied: That is so awful - I heard it was like 20 + feet of water! bawling.gif

MissyKay2005 replied: OMG!!!! That is so sad! ohmy.gif

3'smom replied: 80% of New orleans is flooded at the time and the water is rising. they think there is a break in a levee. There is only one road you can leave on as the others are either under water or destroyed. They said if you can get out to go. It is devastated as are alot of other places in Louisiana and Mississippi. There is going to be such a high loss of life.

kimberley replied: sad.gif how sad. those poor people.

gr33n3y3z replied: so sad

amynicole21 replied: I'm reading reports of coffins being flushed from their above ground crypts because of the water... they are saying that the whole city is likely to become a cesspool.

Another thing to think about... this was on CNN:

Some 6,000 National Guard personnel from Louisiana and Mississippi who would otherwise be available to help deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina are in Iraq.

What a mess sad.gif

punkeemunkee'smom replied: OMG! The water is rising? All circuts are busy is all I get when I try to call dh cell phone-I am not even sure where he is at! bawling.gif I am sorry to sound so selfish-Those poor people! I can't imagine the devastation! bawling.gif

Edit to say now the phone says "Due to the hurricane in the area you are calling your call cannot be completed please try later" So I guess he is there!

MomToMany replied: Well, the whole city is built below sea level (average of 7 feet). The devastation is just awful.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: The first reports were that the water level was supposed to surge to 28 feet, but since Katrina turned east and weakened before she hit, I think the surge went 15-20 feet. Still enough to nearly cover a 2 story house. The cleanup from this is going to be enormous.

Mommy2BAK replied: OMG! ohmy.gif That is absolutely awful! sleep.gif

coasterqueen replied: This is not helping me. I can't believe my husband is going to be in the middle of all this. bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif

MommyToAshley replied: bawling.gif My heart just sinks for all that live in the path of the storm.... P&PT's

3xsthefun replied: That is so awful. sad.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Oh how awful! I'm glad my friend moved back here a few months ago. Prayers going out to all the people in Katrina's path.
