this day gets worse

Kaitlin'smom wrote: now we have one of our cats lost bawling.gif DH went home for lunch and Staci was no where to be found. She is primarly his cat and is usually always waiting by the door for him. All 3 are strickly indoor cats for this reason. He tore the house appart and went looking for her, but nothing could not find her. I feel horrible I have to be at work and I can't go home and look for her. bawling.gif I hope she comes home safe, please keep us in your thoughts, I dont know how DH will take it if she is lost for good.

coasterqueen replied: Oh Di I'm so sorry. Hopefully she shows up and very soon. I've had this happen before and weeks later mine just showed up out of the blue.

My thoughts are with you that she is found and that you get rid of these blues. grouphug.gif

smullin replied: The good thing about cats is that they have great sense of direction. I have heard stories and have experienced cats getting out and coming home. Sometimes they will get out be gone for what it seems like forever and then show up at the door meowing for you to let them. It doesn't matter if they are a indoor cat or not cats are really good at coming back home. I would not worry myself to death. If my cats now got out I would problay freak out to but realize that cats are unlike dogs they will come back and they won't get lost. They know where the food is and the love. I hope you find the kitty or the kitty finds you soon so you don't have to worry. unsure.gif

DansMom replied: Oh, I know that agony---I'm so sorry. Do try the basement, attic and all closets, pantries, drawers even, before being sure she went outside. I hope she will come back on her own or yowl loudly enough for you to find her. It's an awful feeling to think your cat is lost and wandering.

Also, check under nearby porches with a flashlight and bring some tuna (probably good to warn the neighbors if they'r home)---sometimes indoor cats when they get outside go straight for cover under a porch and don't make a peep. I know a cat who stayed under a nearby porch for 4 days.
