almost everyone jumpped on me for not adopting and then again for getting a "designer dog".

Come on! I just wanted some dog advice and we NEED to get a breed dog because of the allergies. I'm regualrly at the pound ( they hire us to walk the dogs) and those dogs are NOT always what they claim they are.

I've tried like 2 sites and they both did this.

Seriously hon, I'm sorry. It's not fair, and really it's disgusting the way some people act. Hope you can find a pet forum that can better meet your needs and answer some of the questions you need resolved.

If it's any consolidation, we went for puppy brand also. Dusty is a full breed lab, not adopted from the SPCA or the pound.

Some people are SUPER picky and only want a certain type of dog...it has to be perfect, etc. You just want a breeded dog, that's normal!

I can only speak for myself, but I was not bored with the ups and downs you were having over the excitement of getting a dog, finding Pinky, only to be disappointed in not getting a courtesy call back (yet) about her.

just search poodles and breeders...


i completely understand i am highly allergic to dogs and cats.. poodles work great for me cause they have no dander and are considered hypoallerigenic...

my opinion on those people..... Jealous or something..... who cares if the dog is pure breed or misfit.. its your money !

I am the PROUD owner of a purebred Golden Retriever.
I did extensive research into many different breeds and the GR came up as #1 for our family and I have not regretted it at all
