trick or treating?

I am not really sure yet.
Since Haloween is on a monday, Jason will have school and they are having a big party. We also have a playgroup party on Sunday. Dh's office has a halloween party on Monday afternoon which we can attend after school or we can go out trick or treating.....I am thinking that we really don't need all that candy around. Jason sure would love it, but he definatly doesn't need it and DH and I are always trying to lose weight.
what are your plans?
ps- he still hates his costume
amynicole21 replied: We will probably go around the mall this year - each store hands out candy. We walked the neighborhood last year and it sucked... nobody would answer their door and we were exhausted from walking so far by the time we got home
coasterqueen replied: I will take the kids trick-or-treating in my FIL's small town. We did this last year and Kylie came home with so much candy and toys that it was obsurd. FIL has asked for me to bring the girls again this year so I will. I'll just be ridding of most of the candy like I did last year. I drop it off at DH's work for all the employees to mac on. They devour it the first day.
We live out in the country so it's pretty pointless to go trick-or-treating out there. Although we stop at all the relative's homes down our road so they can see the kids costumes.
My2Beauties replied: Yeah we'll be taking Hanna this year, I'm going to Desiree's neighborhood and her mom and I are taking them (weird huh? )! The neighborhood she lives in (which is only about 10 minutes from us, but a world of difference when it comes to the people) they really get into it and almost everyone gives out candy!
booey2 replied: Well I get to stay home and shell out candy, DH and my BIL usually take them out trick or treating. Matthew will be a ninja if we can find last years costume and Thomas will be a skeleton, I got his costume but have to make some alterations as I got it a little big so he can wear it next year.
DansMom replied: Just a few houses of people we know in the neighborhood---it's a great street where everyone knows everyone else. He's already peaking on Halloween with all the parties---at school and with playdate kids. By Monday, I think the bloom will be off the rose. Also, he's decided he's afraid of the dark and wants to be carried when we're outside at night. That will certainly limit how far we go. Add to that the fact that he can't eat most of the candy that's handed out because it has milk (milk chocolate). He's never had a lollipop or hard candy either, so the candy part of it is lost on him.
moped replied: Not this year - Jack is too little and I never found the Jack Jack costume - Oh well.......be can giggle at the kids that come to the door!
Debra replied: We always taken the kids trick or treating for about 30 minutes before taking them to a church festival. We'll be doing that again this year!
DS's school does not allow Halloween parties so this is all he'll be doing.
We're having a playgroup party at our house during the day for DD & her friends!
Boys r us replied: Awww..let the little guy go trick or treating!!!!!! Put the candy away when you get home and leave only a few treats out for him to have! Look at it this way, you won't have to buy anything sweet for a long time..you'll be stocked up until next halloween!
We are taking the kiddies trick or treating Monday night.
MyLuvBugs replied: We aren't going out on halloween, but the children's zoo here has "Boo at the Zoo" the week before. (Starts tomorrow). My parents are coming out, and we're all taking Lorelei in her little costume to the Zoo on Saturday evening. Should be fun. My sister says she goes all the time, and has so much fun with her kids.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: We have a Halloween party this Friday with my Mom's group, so he's dressing up then. But no trick or treating. I think he will have fun handing candy to the kids that come to our door though!
luvbug00 replied: We are going with Mya's little girlfriend.. We have 2 pillow cases ready to go!!
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: We will take Mackenzie to all the people we know, we live in a small town. Though she can't eat candy, but her daddy will eat it all!!
mckayleesmom replied: Heck Ya Im going trick or treating....I mean the kids ....Holloween is my favorite holiday. Im going to take them once around the block and then come home and hand out candy.
Mom2Boyz replied: We're going to take the boys to our friends and families houses trick or treating (mostly just so everyone can see them in their costumes), then come home and hand out candy. They're both still too little to even have a clue why Mommy dressed them up in funny costumes anyway
Mommy2BAK replied: We live in a nice little neighborhood, so I am gonna walk Blakely around to the houses that we know on our cude-sac. Then she and I will probably hand out candy.
MommyToAshley replied: Our zoo does that too... I was thinking of taking Ashley but it depends on the weather.
Ashley's been to the Halloween party for our neighborhood, for gymnastics, her dance class and preschool party is tomorrow, and then we might go to the zoo on Saturday. She's already planned to go trick or treating with her two best friends in the neighborhood on Monday. Phew... she might not be Halloween'ed out but I sure am! But, I guess they are only small once and it won't be too long before we will miss having little ones to go Trick or Treating with.
Whatever you decide to do, it sounds like Jason will have plenty of opportunity to wear his costume and I bet he will love it!
3xsthefun replied: Yes, we will be taking our kids trick or treating this year. We will go around to some family and friends houses we know and then go into town.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: We go downtown. Our downtown is still a major shopping area and all the stores hand out candy. We just get in line and go door to door, they also have contests and fun stuff for the kiddos.
PrairieMom replied: We will be doing zoo boo this weekend, and Monday we will be going to some friends and family, and handing out candy.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I'd like to... if I've had the baby out!!
Otherwise - my mom and MIL are anxious to be told that they're 'allowed' to go show off the kids
wahm05 replied: We're going to our local "Boo at the Zoo" on Saturday night and they have magicians, people handing out candy, lights everywhere and the animals are out. Since dd's only 1 we'll dress her up and that will pretty much be Halloween this year. We are going to have her help us hand out candy though
