Im always worried about jenna and her milestones. Because i feel she is behind than other kids. But thats just me a worry wart! jenna is 19.5 months and she is just starting to walk. She says mom, momma, dad, dadda, hi, bye, uh oh, up. that is it. she doesnt say 2 word sentences at all. she babbles but thats it.

how is your kids at?

momof2girls replied: My baby is 8 months she says mama dada she says all kinds of other things we dont understand! haha.

ediep replied: Jason is 20 1/2 months and he says tons of words that I can't undertsand but some that I can
mom, dad, pop, baby bop, cheese, sesame (street), dark, clean, gone, teeth, drink, open, downstairs, Angeline (his cousin), Jess (his friend), bannana, drink, doggie.... I am sure there are more, but I can't think of them right now

He doesn say some 2 word sentences but not that often yet such as....dada gone, what's that

alice&arik replied: Arik is 22 months old and he doesn't say a whole lot either. Sometimes if I ask him to say something he will flat out tell me "NO!!" I know he can say some stuff, but doesn't want to.

He does say: mom, daddy, daisy(his dog), outside, inside, oh yeah, oh good, oh no, nite nite, oh wow, he said water once, hot, it's hot, ball, balloon...I can't really think of anything else right now, but those are the most popular that he says.

I don't know why, but anything that is hot or cold he calls hot. It is funny sometimes, like he touches my leg and says hot! Or he will touch something in the fridge and say hot! rolling_smile.gif And I have told him over and over that it is cold.

kit_kats_mom replied: I'm not really sure how old Jenna is. If you look at Katherine's webpage, I started keeping track of her favorite words at least by her first birthday. Maybe that will help?

mummy2girls replied:
jenna is 19 months old. she will be 20 months on 1st

coasterqueen replied: Oh gosh, I don't really know how many Kylie says anymore. I tried keeping a list of them which I have on her milestones page of her website, but she just started talking a mile a minute and I gave up. blush.gif

She says several words sentences now too. Kylie is 21 months old. I know many babies her age that don't speak as much as her or don't say but a handful of words so I think Jenna is doing fine. wink.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I think I have lost track of all of the words that Jade says. She will be 22 months at the end of the month. I used to think the same about Jade, but then out of no where she starting picking up words left and right. She can also make at least 3 word sentences for example I want _____ or what is ______ and Her favorite Where is daddy? I'm sure Jenna will start saying more words shortly.

Kaitlin'smom replied: wow this is a tougth one, kaitlin will be 18 months on the 28th and says quite a few words....let me count and get back to you.....

MommyToAshley replied: Ashely is 21 months and talks in full sentences. She'll carry on a normal conversation. There's still a few words that she doesn't pronounce correctly, and she doesn't always use pronouns correctly.

I wouldn't worry about Jenna though, she will talk when she is ready. I would just keep talking to her and give her opportunities to respond. I have a friend who's little boy didn't start talking until he was almost 3. She was concerned and ruled out a hearing problem. But, all of a sudden he just started talking and hasn't stopped. He's right on track with the rest of the kids his age.

So, if you are sure that it isn't an issure with hearing, then I wouldn't be concerned yet.

jem0622 replied: Every child develops at different paces, so don't worry. If your ped isn't worried then don't worry.

Gabe says a lot but some you can't understand b/c of that darned 'mimi' in his mouth! LOL. Stinker. dry.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: Okay I have been thinking of all the words she says and so far I have a list of 25 I know there is more but I cant think of them right now. So far only two word phrases.

oh in case I have not said she is 17 months comming on 18 months

pinka_star replied: Emma is almost 13 months and she says "Mum" "Momma" "Daddy" "Dada" "Hi" "Oh hi" (she doesn't say that very often though) "Doggy" "Thank you" (again she doesn't say that very often).

All kids develope at a different pace so I wouldn't worry too much. Maybe make an appointment with her Doctor and talk about it to ease your mind.

3_call_me_mama replied: Cameron talks NON STOP, and has for a while, but he did a lot of other things early too. He speaks in full sentences and has very few words that he can't say, but can carry on a conversation with most people. his has just happened in the last 2 weeks. Befor ehe would only talk to certain people or only say some things at home. At last count he had over 250+ words.... but than again I never shut up either. He's going to be 20 mos on the 5th of July. ... but i was reading on the babycenter's page that anywhere between 10-50 words for this age is considered noraml, and even less is fine each child will develop at their own pace.hth.
