weight....

MyLuvBugs wrote: Ok, so I set my goal for this PG to 40lbs. With the Lorelei I gained 60 lbs overall, and that was just TOOOOO much. So, I thought 40 was reasonable.

But now I'm only 23 weeks and I've gained almost 28 lbs already. sad.gif I think I'm going to have to alter my goal. tongue.gif Although it might help if I start our family walk time everday again. rolleyes.gif

PrairieMom replied: I gained 70 with The Boy, and I have gained 32 so far with this one. Although, I seem to be gaining fast the past few weeks, like a few pounds a week! huh.gif Mine is fluid. The good thing about that is its easy to loose afterwards! I peed off 30 pounds in 2 weeks after Ben was born! rolling_smile.gif

siblingtoolivia replied: Tara - 70 lbs, my gosh where did you put it??????

I gained about 40 with Olivia and hope to stay around there this time cause I started off about 40 lbs heavier this time than last time...it has me a bit worried but I am trying to walk at least 4 nites a week, etc. and I think I am more active this time obviously chasing a 4 year old around..... rolling_smile.gif

PrairieMom replied:
OMG, where didn't I put it? mostly in my butt I think. laugh.gif That and my face, ankles and hands were really swollen. I can barely look at photos of my self after the birth. I don't even look like me! It took me 10 months to loose the weight.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I gained 25 lbs total with Wil and have only gained 22 so far with this one. And I've actually sat at 22 lbs gain for several weeks now. I think your weight slows down by the end, at least it does/did for me. So what I'm trying to say is...you're more than half way there, so it's definitely possible you will gain those last 10 lbs or so much more gradually this time. Just make sure not to eat empty calories and I think you'll reach your goal! hug.gif

Tara, I just can't imagine 70 lbs on your small frame! ohmy.gif

PrairieMom replied: I tipped the scales at 200 pounds when I went in to deliver Ben. Here is me at about 34 weeks when DH and I went to birthing class. He got a kick out of the empathy belly.

I still can't believe those pictures are of me!

siblingtoolivia replied: WOW, I would never believe that was you, amazing isn't it the things we do for our kids......

I just still looked about 5 months pregnant when I came home and had alot of fluid in my legs, feet from the c-section.....I too though thought for awhile that I was carrying the child in my butt!!!!!

You look wonderful this time though!!!! I won't even think about looking at my pictures of myself pregnant the first time compared to this, it will be too depressing...like I said, I never lost the weight from Olivia, I regret that but too late now.....just do what I can to minimize the damage this time and I am also going to breastfeed this time, didn't with Olivia and she had a really bad tummy and I regret it but I was too scared to try, really neurotic about it...this time I am more open to it and not as nervous.....

Heather77 replied: Thankfully my weight gain has slowed down the past few weeks.
I was +41, but then lost 8lbs... so I'm okay with that.

I gained 70 lbs. with my first and only 19 with my second.

MyLuvBugs replied:
Yeah same with Lorelei. The 60 was probably only 40 b/c in 2 weeks I dropped 20lbs and the LC was freaked out that I wasn't eating. rolleyes.gif But it was just water draining away. laugh.gif

moped replied: I gained 85 lbs....................no kidding, I looked worse than Tara........wanna compare photos Tara???
rolling_smile.gif

MyLuvBugs replied:
Yeah. That's been the problem the last month with travelling and stuff. Too much fast food. sad.gif But it tastes so good. sleep.gif I just haven't had time over the last month to stick with our schedule, get exercise in, and eat right. KWIM? Hopefully, over the next 2 months (my biggest gain time) I'll be able to get back on track.

I can't believe you've only gained 22 lbs so far. I'm so jealous. lol laugh.gif

PrairieMom replied:
bring it! rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

MyLuvBugs replied: Ya'll are funny. There's only one picture of me right after Lorelei was born. I avoided the camera like a plague and there's no way I'm posting it on here. lol laugh.gif

siblingtooolivia replied: rolling_smile.gif I agree, no posting of pictures after the birth for me either, I was a poster child for planned parenthood rolling_smile.gif

ashtonsmama replied: I gained 43 lbs. with Ashton, and never got all of it off after he was born, so I still have some from him hanging on, and I've already gained about 6 lbs.
rolleyes.gif

Cece00 replied: I gained 60 lbs the first time (I had pre- e right @ the end)
About 25 lbs the second time
and about 30 lbs last time

So far I'm @ 8 lbs

Insanemomof3 replied: I gained 70 lbs with my daughter, but only about 20-30 lbs with the boys. Gotta love that preggo weight!!! bawling.gif

NEWMOM05 replied: I gained 28 lbs with Kathryn.

slocumsgirl replied: okay. when you're over weight already and you gain alot of weight like that, do you even look pregnant? or just really fat. B/c I'm overweight and was just getting back into the swing of losing weight and now I might be pregnant. Crap. I really don't want to be a really fat pregnant woman! I want to be cute! Thats really the only thing I'm worried about I want people to know that I'm pregnant and not just fat!

MyLuvBugs replied:
My best friend is PG right now also, and started off 40lbs over weight. Usually, in situations like that your OB/GYN will put you on a special diet and recommend that you only gain 15-20 lbs during your pregnancy. Obesity can cause several complications for you and the baby, so you'll need to really watch what you eat. My Best friend is 27 1/2 wks along now and has only gained 18lbs. Her Dr. recommended that she gain only 20, so she's doing really good. Better than myself. smile.gif

slocumsgirl replied: alright thanks!

A&A'smommy replied: You can do it.. if you alter it don't alter more than 5lbs... but I think your doing good!! hug.gif

MyLuvBugs replied:
Alter the scale or the diet plan? rolling_smile.gif B/c if I alter the scale there's always the one at the Dr's office. That one's evil. dry.gif
