Then there is one thing that I will never try........Sushi.....it's almost embarassing because I know it's the "thing to do" now. But I just know I would throw up if I tried it.

Cabbage and Sauerkraut - sorry I had 3 but these things are so gross! Oh and Brussel Sprouts!

Ummm.. I don't like FRESH chicken... It grosses me out to have to pluck and u can see the hairs still sticking out of it.. I prefer to buy it at the store already cleaned..
BTW: I love deer meet..but it has to be cooked right..and soaked over nite to remove the gamey taste...if you dont' do this it will smell up the whole house.
I have even had deer spaghetti and cooked right it is GOOD>

I won't eat deer for personal reasons, it wasn't the taste it was the thought! I won't get into a debate because I don't fault anyone - but I just think hunting is wrong and I won't eat any byproduct of someone hunting an animal, deer, squirrel, rabbit etc....it makes me ill thinking about those poor animals! If the tables were turned we wouldn't like it very much!

I will just state I have a totally different view. And I believe that God put animals on the earth for humans to eat. Yes we have changed..and deer might not be ALL there is too eat...but that doesn't change it's purpose in life..
And a cow, a hamburger was once just as cute as a deer..

OK OK I know difference of opinions and I know that once upon a time killing your food was a means of survival - not disagreeing with that at all and it was necessary to live. I'm no vegetarian neither, but I leave it up to the beef people to kill them because they do it fast and painless. The reason I am soooooo against hunting is because what if they miss? What if you shoot a poor animal and it doesn't kill them instantly, OMG then they just run back to the woods and suffer tremensely (sp?)! You're talking to a girl who got mad at her fiance's cousin when he killed a possum, a possum, as ugly and nasty as those creatures are, I cried when they shot him 9 times and he still got up trying to run away making squeaking noises, he missed all 9 times, they they continued to punt this poor creature around the yard with their feet kicking him in the air and thought he was a regular ol' football, that really upset me! My point is, they are God's creatures just like we are God's creatures, what on this earth makes us more powerful than them that we can just go around shooting them and killing off their young. First we take their land and their homes, then we have the nerve to get mad at them for coming on our property and running out in the middle of roads etc....they have nowhere left to go, yeah they're overpopulated because they once ruled the earth freely and had vast forests to run and play in (and let nature takes its course, if they died it was by another animal that had to kill to live) and now we have come in with our bulldozers and our big machinery and cut down their homes and run them out and made so many species endangered how can I not feel sorry for them and how can I not get mad at people for hunting them. It's no longer a necessity, we no longer have to hunt for our food, it's for pure sport and that's it  whether people eat it or not! It doesn't matter we don't have to do it as a means of survival! I have thought about becoming a vegetarian many many times before but I always ate a hamburger or something. I don't eat much red meat at all and I really can't stand turkey or chicken for that matter. But I do have the occassional hamburger or sausage pizza etc...It's just like what gives us the right to take another life, human or animal KWIM

TANNER'S MOM replied: Ok.. I totally agree with parts of that LeaAnn. In my family my boys are raised to hunt... They are taught never to KILL unless it is for FOOD..no birds etc... We don't eat them.
My boys, myself and DH will NEVER take a SHOT that is IFFY... NEVER! That is one reason we don't bow hunt. It much room for error and suffering. We have rules w/ in our family's etc. We do not TROPHY hunt for something to hang on the wall either. We hunt for FOOD.
And to be honest we eat it all. I am raising 4 kids and it takes alot to feed them. But to honest with you LeaAnn..the beef processors and Chicken farms and plant aren't near as painless as a bullet. Those animals are put thru alot more than an unexpected bullet. Days of being in a trailor standing in your crap..maybe blind and then hurt.. they then put them in a lot.. a small area with no room to move..the less they move ..the more weight they can for up to 3days... Alot of time these animals suffer from hurting each other..fighting, kicking..and some are already half starved..no water so you don't bloat etc.. Then they are maybe shot...Maybe not shot..might cut there throat and hang them up side down to bleed oout..but they may not be dead at first..this guy has to be good just like a shot..if not they will hang there until they die a sad death by bleeding to death..
Ok, We all agree to disagree...between over population in the wild to fulfilling god's destiny for them..we will always agree.
One point I would like to make is this..if people didnt' eat them...something would. People think they would live long happy lives in the wilderness, but they don't. It is not part of God's plan. A coyote's eat them.. or a mountain lion. Or they breed and breed and have more babies who are then become inbreed themselves...and no pasture or woods. They are fading fast.
I do believe in LAWFUL hunting..not taking any more than your limit..buck or doe..and I believe in EATING everything u kill.. Sure shot only!
And my last point is.. a STEAK is a STEAK be it deer or beef..it's still a steak..
I hope I did not offend anyone... I am sure there alot who disagree. This is just one of my ISSUES... Sorry guys!

You have some valid points, I am a Libra so I am always willing to see if from the other side of the fence so to speak. I'm at least glad you do teach your boys to hunt for good reasons instead of for Trophy! I hate that
So we can agree to disagree on things, you brought up some points I didn't know about the beef people and the slaughterhouses, you have really made me rethink my decision regarding vegetarianism now...yeeks those poor animals!
I just love animals - all of them and while I couldn't fathom taking one of their lives, for those who do I do not look down upon them I just hope, like you said, they have a sure shot and the animals don't suffer!

I agree I can't fathom being hurtful.. I love animals everyone here knows I do.. Big and small. We raise beef cattle and usually they are dumb cows swatting flies and chewing there cud...but every now and then .. we get one that is just too sweet..that plays and is really friendly... and I throw caution to the wind..and poor DH he has to keep it... But they get big and sometimes mean etc..but I do fall in love too.
I realize that enviroment and up bringing as alot to do w/ this too. And I was raised by a man..lol
Veg..might be the way to go...lol
