sparkys2boys wrote: And no booze is not in the four food groups..lol!!!! I mean if you were to have a party or be asked to take a dish or appetizer what would you take??? What is your favorite thing that you make?? I'm getting ready for my BIG family and friends xmas party next week and need some new ideas!!! I make a few favorites that I have alot but want to try some new stuff also!! I make a awesome nacho dip.. chesse ball.. meatballs... sausage bites in a sauce.. shrimp dip..and a ton of others. If there is something that someone posts that I want the reciepe for.. could you e-mail it to me if I let you know??
Calimama replied: I usually bring marinated shrimp or lobster bites. My family devoures them in about 2 seconds. Ohh and crab cakes..forgot about those.
Boo&BugsMom replied: I usually make beer bread with dip! Yummy! I also love veggie pizza and my mom makes these sausages wrapped in croissants that are really good too!
redchief replied: Bacon wrapped scallops.
Edited to take issue with not thinking booze is a food group. I beg to differ.
sparkys2boys replied: i said no booze..lmao!!!! And the second post.. beer hahah!!!! No, joking, it sounds yummy!!! the sausage roll one sounds really good too
Boo&BugsMom replied: Yeah, in my defense...the beer is cooked so the effect is no longer there. It's is SO GOOD! It's from Tastefully Simple.
ETA: for the sausage wraps you roll sausages (already cooked) up in Pillsbury croissants, sprinkle with Italian seasoning and bake at whatever the croissant package says. They are very yummy!
sparkys2boys replied: ok ok.. i give..lol!!! Sorry Ed and Tannerbugsmom!!!!! Bring on the booze!!!!
Boo&BugsMom replied: Troy would take that side and differ with you as well. He thinks beer is a food group all it's own.
Crystalina replied: Well, this is not just booze but you do need booze to make it and it's something that I'm well known for and that is my Bourbon Balls. They are great and the best part is making them. I use alot of bourbon in mine for the adults and none at all for the kids.
Calimama replied: Those sound yummy!
BtB2006 replied: I make a taco dip that's layers of seasoned meat, sour cream and cheese. It usually goes pretty fast.
AngieS replied: I make homemade potstickers with sweet chili sauce. They don't always go with the rest of the food!
lisar replied: I make a homemade cheese dip. Its really spicy and take tostitoas to go with it.
TheOaf66 replied: i don't make anything usually but some of my favorites that my MIL makes is swedish meatballs and then sausage links wrapped in crescent rolls...yummy, gettin hungry just thinkin of it
sparkys2boys replied: what are potstickers???
Our Lil' Family replied: Mmmm, I miss Bourbon Balls. My aunt used to make them every year!
I like to make Chicken Spaghetti for a party because it is fairly easy and it makes a LOT!
Ellie replied: I had some good ideas until I saw that alcohol wasn't a food group
Seriously, though. I usually make 7 layer dip, pinwheels (cream cheese and jalepenos wrapped in tortillas) or devilled eggs.
