whats your favorite thing

Me, I love sending and getting christmas cards.
I also love bring back and old traditions and sharing it with Kaitlin

A&A'smommy replied: hmmmm there are SOOOO many its hard to pick.... I think this year I'm SOOO excited about Autumn she is LOVING it already sooo one of my favorites is a childs wonder and awe over everything about christmas.

I LOVE singing christmas carols and getting gifts together for every...ok thats more than one or two sorry I have a ton more I just absolutely love it all

Ok, family is great and all but the reason I love Christmas is it's the ONE holiday that we do NOT see family (besides DH, me and the kids). We will see them on Christmas Eve or the day after but when Izabella was born I made a rule that Christmas day is just for us. It's so relaxing just knowing that DH and I can enjoy the kids and lay around in our pj's all day and play with toys and watch movies and know that we will not have to entertain or pack up and go to someones house. When I was younger we would always go visit this person or that, be taken away from the toys we just opened and by the time we got home Christmas day was over. I don't want to do that to my kids.

MIL gets an attitude about this every year but she gets over it.

But if I have to narrow it down, I'll say decorating the tree and telling the kids where each ornament came from, and making all the "secret recipes" that my grandmother won't give you unless you swear by your first born that you'll ONLY make them at Christmas so as not to spoil it and make them an "everyday" treat.

It's Jesus' birthday and I love to celebrate Him everyday, but especially this time of year when everyone is so filled with thanks for all He has done through the year, as it's coming to a close.

Baking! The holidays give me a reason to bake all the things I love, for all the people I love. The kids are old enough to want to help now, so it's a tradition that has been passed down...something my mother and I used to do together.

Memories-Making new ones every year and remembering things from my childhood

PrairieMom replied: Pretending to drink the wine my dad makes, while dumping it into the sink little by little when he isn't looking. My sister and I make a game of it, and completely crack our selves up.

CantWait replied: I changed mine cause it was so hard to pick, and because we're doing our tree this weekend finally and I can't wait.

Decorating the tree. We always sit around and just stare at it after. This year I imagine we'll have a fire going, and I'll have baked some cookies just for the event.

I also love the whole tree thing- we always cut our own down at a tree farm the day after Thanksgiving, so all my tree decorating fun is over already this year but I'm now enjoying seeing it in the living room!
