when is it most risky?
PhiMuMommy wrote: ok i have asked a few people and have gotten different responses. sooooo...
when is it easiet to get pregnant? i've heard 2 weeks before the time of month i've heard the week after.... so i'm confused...
thanks!
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: 2 weeks is assuming a 28 day cycle. If you have a28 day cycle 2 weeks after the starting day of AF would be the day you O. there is like a 5 day period when the chances of getting pregnant are the best.
eta. for me the first day of my last period was 11-24 so my O day is 12-8 and my chances of conceiving are best from 12-5 thru 12-10 so that would be the "riskiest" week for me
mckayleesmom replied: Sorry....Im too uncoordinated to think about all that stuff....I never tried.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: If your cycle is not a regular 28 days the best thing to remember is you Ovulate 14 days before the first day of your period. So if you started on the 28th of last month you O'ed on the 14 even if that is more than 14 days after the 1st day of your last period... confused yet???

PhiMuMommy replied: ok so 14 days before i would start.. so 14 days after i'm done? that is the same thing basically right? boy am i confused..lol.
PrairieMom replied: It depends on if you are TRYING to get PG or not. If your not trying, its all risky, and I wouldn't take a chance. If you ARE trying, you can try charting your temperatures to tell when you are ovulating. I used the website Fertilityfriend.com . It helped me concieve this baby.
jacobsmama replied: Day 1 is the first day you have bleeding even if it is very light or just a spot then you count and if you are trying to get pregnant they you start as early as day 11 to as late as day20 for some people and that is on cycle from 28-40 days at least that is what we tell our patients who are trying to get pregnant it seems to be best time. Hope all this helps.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: If you have your period on the 14th - you ovulate on the 1st. Semen can survive up to 5 days,,, so technically you can getp regnant up to 5 days before you ovulatew, and up to 24 hours after.
Let me make this simple by telling you what they teach about birth control when 'birth control' isn't available..... if you're 'dry', you're not close to ovulation. If you fee llike you got egg white down there, that's a good time to use protection!

toady_buckshot_noodle replied: HEEHEE WITH ME ANYTIME I GET TOO CLOSE TO MY HUBBY!!
Seriously, I used the "rhythem method", knowing what days were safe and what days not, for a year before hubby and I got married. And seriously, the one time I knew I shouldn't do it was the first time I got pregnant!!
PhiMuMommy replied: rhythem method", what is that? never heard of it.. see it's up in the air on trying or not..
we both WANT one.. but for many logical reasons now isn't the best time.. but we only see eachother once a month as of right now.. (reason number 1) and so we do what we do once a month.. i was just trying to figure out if that was a risky time or not...
