Same here. It's been the biggest running joke since Thomas was born and even more so now that he's starting to eat and color on his own. DH tries to sneak and give him his fork in his left hand but I usually catch it!

Kaitlin'smom replied: Lefty here and darn proud of it. Actually I can use both hand for many things excpet cutting, cant use my left at all for that. Always drove me crazy my teachers were always giving my lefty sizzors and I could NOT use them.

I'm the same. Can't cut left handed, and when I was learning to play baseball, my coach wouldn't let me hit left handed, and needless to say, I couldn't play worth a darn!

MommyToAshley replied: DH and I are both righties, however Ashley is most definitely a lefty. No one else in either of our families are lefties, so it's odd. However, I was reading some research material that said that left handed people are usually a twin, but in some cases the twin was never formed or dissolved early on. Interesting study, I wonder if they will ever prove it to be fact.

I don't necessarily think we are discriminated against - it's more a matter of supply vs demand. Something like 10% of the worlds population is left handed, so most stores would only stock 10% left handed items vs. 90% right handed.

In my area at least I've never had a problem - if the item exists in left handed form, they will always order it if they don't have it.
