More functional than I was expecting
We already had a crib before the baby was born, but the crib was sharing a room with an older child, so we opted to put the mini cosleeper in our bedroom for as long as possible, mostly to avoid upsetting the older kid with nightly baby noises.

Little did I know that it was much easier to calm, nurse, etc. the baby at night when they're right there! I also worried that we wouldn't get much use out of the co-sleeper because the baby would outgrow it, but she's 8 months now (~18 lbs and 28" long) and we're now transitioning to the crib because of her height. Even though we're using the crib in the other room, we keep the cosleeper set up since it is a familiar and a reasonably safe place for her to be when in our bedroom. She now comes into our room in the mornings and sits in the cosleeper to play with a toy or two. This allows me to get showered and ready without worrying about her rolling off the side of the bed. It was easy to set up, the storage underneath is great for our cache of diapers, wipes, and receiving blankets, and the tan pattern isn't intrusive in the bedroom. The mattress and sheet are secured with velcro straps, and easy to clean in the washing machine (sheet hangs dry quickly). I'm really glad that we got this as a baby shower gift!

Great with pets
I have three cats and was so worried that they would jump into the sleeper with my son. I purchased the canopy for it and I love it!! My pets cannot get anywhere near him and it gives me piece of mind. I found that the zipper was quiet, too. The wheels are great on it too because it blocks my nightstand drawer and the wheels make it easy to manuver. I LOVE it!!

Co-sleeper's a Musthave for Newborns
I have a 6 week old newborn who started out only sleeping 1.5 to 2 hour stetches at night, which required that I get him in & out bed very often. Being very much sleep deprived I don't think I'd make it if I had get out of bed every time. The co-sleeper is a lifesaver being so close to my bed....the is more like an extension of my bed. Its the safest alternative to actually having him in our bed. My son dosn't sleep soundly, so often times when he's squirming in the middle of the night, w/out leaving my bed I can grab him or reach my hand over & stick the passi in is mouth, or sometimes when he's sleeping so quitely & Im wondering if he's still breathing (if its your 1st born you will) I can lie there & watch him breathe or place my hand on his tummy without ever leaving my bed. Its bad enough I have to walk to the kitchen to get his bottle several times in the middle of the night, I can't imagine what my nights would be like w/out the co-sleeper.
its a musthave for newborns

Very pleased with this sturdy sleeper!
My sister in law had bought us the Eddie Bauer rocking bassinet it was horrible and we had to return it. We decided to get this mini co sleeper because it holds up to 23lbs. It has been a great purchase. I love that it is very solid. We don't use it as a co sleeper, but instead have all sides up and set it next to our bed so I can move it to get in and out of bed. There is storage in the bottom of it and that is where I keep all the pieces that came with it. I think this is a valuable thing to own with an infant child. It will last longer than a bassinet because of it's size, but it isn't so big that it will take up a lot of space.

I was not impressed
In theory, this is a wonderful product. However, I had two problems.

To start, the product came with only one set of sheets, and Babies-R-Us did not sell the sheets. I ordered some additional sheets from Arm's Reach, and they sent my order confirmation, containing my complete credit card number and expiration date, to me in an unencrypted e-mail. I had to cancel the credit card. I explained this to Arm's Reach and used a different credit card to purchase the sheets.

The mattress was very firm and my son did not like to sleep on it. If I could get him to fall asleep, sometimes I could transfer him to the co-sleeper without waking him, but I would frequently fall asleep before he would.

When my son did fall asleep in the co-sleeper, he would scoot around, and sometimes his nose ended up pressed against the padded edge that was next to my bed. This made me uncomfortable, but I figured that it was safer than having my son in the bed with me.

Other than these three problems, I liked the co-sleeper.

The best for C-section recovery
I had a C-Section and this is the perfect height for you to be able to look over your baby without too much effort. Before, with my old regular bassinet, I had to lift myself up---ouch-- just to make sure my baby was ok. Plus this co-sleeper folds up to a really small size, perfect for traveling. My baby is now 5 months and she moved to the crib without any trouble.

Wish I had know ot this bed sooner
I love my mini-cosleeper! I tried a basinette first; it was not sturdy and the mattress too thin. The baby couldn't sleep in in. I recieved a pack and play as a shower gift, with a basinette feature, but it was too big and bulky for our smaller bedroom (although it has other great uses!). In a parenting magazine I saw an advertisement for the co-sleeper and did some research online..........and I'm a happy, NOT sleep deprived Mom. I really wanted to have my baby close to me at night, but not in the same bed with us. The mini-cosleeper has made that possible. It really adorable and very sturdy. The mattress is comfortable for my son and he sleeps well on it. Some reviewers mentioned that it is difficult to lock into place....well, it does take some effort, but that is part of what makes it safe and sturdy. It isn't extremely difficult at all, and well worth the effort. The fabric is sturdy and very attractive. My only complaint is that extra sheets are a bit pricey. When my son is too big to sleep in this bed, I will use this as a changing table. This is another item that I wish I would have had for all three of my boys. It is worth every penny.

Happy to still have baby in our room!
The Mini Co-Sleeper is pretty much the only bassinet that accommodates a baby over 15 pounds. Well, my baby was born weighing 9lbs 5oz! She was 15 pounds in only 3-4 months and I was in no way ready to put her in her own room yet. The mini co-sleeper is great for bedrooms with limited space. It is sturdy and very safe. My daughter seems to really enjoy sleeping in it. I have not one bad thing to say about this item. I wish I bought it first and didn't waste time & money with the original bassinet that we purchased.

SO HAPPY WITH IT!
We are so pleased with this product! It comes ready to use as the co-sleeper, so you just have to unpack it and pull (or push) all of the rails until everthing is sturdy (and it WILL BE sturdy!). Read the directions and there will be no problems.
I have read other reviews and some people have stated that you need to use a "ridiulous amount of effort" to lock the top rails into place. I do not see where this was the case. Everything locked and unlocked easily, my husband and I both had no trouble changing the mini co-sleeper to the bassinet, and back again. We even folded it all the way down and put it in the carry case (the way it arrives) and we still had no trouble setting it back up.
The mini co-sleeper comes with the fitted sheet (it's smart to order an extra sheet...regular crib sheets won't fit and these have velcro on the back so there's no chance of it popping off during the night). You can also purchase the extender legs if it is not at the right height for your bed (ours was just right).
All in all, I'd say it's worth the price and is very well made. A big help for c-section & breastfeeding moms!
Check the various colors that this item comes in...I was sure to register for the Tan Dot print...it's neutral enough for a boy or girl and it doesn't look wild in our bedroom.
