User Submitted Philips Avent Express Baby Food and Bottle Warmer Reviews November 11, 2008 Works well and fast This warmer heats up fast! You have to be careful not to walk away from it for too long if you use it on the highest setting. It comes in very handy and is nice and compact. I even travel with it when I visit people's homes so I don't have to bother with their stove and pots. I love this product.
June 15, 2008 pretty good well, i purchased this at a local store despite erroneous reviews found here. its a great device, at first it seemed wasteful since i could just microwave some water (3 minutes), then soak the bottle until it warmed up (3 more minutes) but now i can just pop in a bottle and the whole thing is done in under 3 minutes. if youve got an extra $40 i recommend it.
April 19, 2008 DO NOT BUY THIS, BUY THE IQ VERSION The device is pretty good however it is very hard to time the warming and very easy to overheat the bottles.
a few weeks after my son was born we went to my in-laws where we duplicated most of the necessities and I bought the IQ version of this warmer. It is so much better. Has so many setting! A few friends that copied our registry i had switch to the iq version. Spend the extra money!
April 8, 2008 Temperature control? This thing certainly "warms up" but no reliable thermostat to ensure that the content of the bottle remains at a reasonable temperature. If not careful, the bottle will get get way too hot...
March 31, 2008 GREAT PRODUCT I gave this to a friend as a gift and she loved it. This product is highly recommended......It really serves its purpose, and very very easy to use..
March 28, 2008 Does the job This bottle warmer does the trick. After reading other reviews it does have an on and off switch, they just never looked for it. If your bottle is floating then it's obvious you have too much water in it. As for the timing of the warmer. You do have to guess on how long to leave it in. But after you do it for a while you can estimate how long it should take. I only overheated once or twice and for reasons. I think this bottle warmer is great. It warms the bottle evenly.
January 18, 2008 love this too this is something else we didn't get at the shower and i really thought we needed. especially after trying to warm upa bottle for my month old neice a few months before our own baby was born.... i do agree there is no auto shut off on this, and that can be a pain. that needs to change. the pamphelt on the product covers that though. and there is no way to tell if the time has passed on the warmer. so you do run the risk of getting too hot formula or milk or food. i agree with that. but to me its pros outweigh its cons. having somethign warm up a bottle while i can hold and soothe the baby or dance around with the baby.. or trying to heat up the bottle under hot running water with an angry baby.. i have had no problem with the water level or any other glitches save the ones i mentioned, and i use ours several times a day. it is a lifesave at 2am feedings. i highly recommend it.
January 14, 2008 Works great...but no auto-shut off This thing is GREAT. We used a couple of those 'steam' warmers before we settled on this bath type. The steam ones seem to make the outside of the bottle REALLY hot REALLY fast...but the mild inside stayed cold. So when we found this one, I was sold.
It heats the water inside the warmer REALLY fast (it's at temp in a minute or less). And for 4-6 oz bottle, it's warm enough to give our baby in a less than 5 minutes. If you time it right, it can be warm in about the time it takes to change a diaper.
Also to note, we don't use the Avent brand bottles. We use the Playtex Vent-Air system b/c those bottles hook up to our Medala breast pump. And this bath works great for those bottles too!!
CON: There is no auto shut off or timer on this warmer...which if you are paying attetion is no real problem. But we have left the warmer on for extended periods of time(for instance in the middle of the night forgetting to turn it off) and if you get distracted and leave a bottle in the warmer - it will be PRETTY hot when you got to take it out.
But OVERALL, a GREAT product and highly recommended for any bottle system you use.
January 5, 2008 Warmer a Must I give 5 stars to all Avent Products. I have had no problems, whatsoever, with Avent. You may also want to purchase the Avent Sterilizer. It is fabulous.
January 3, 2008 Life saver!!! I love this product! I am a mother of triplets and this has been a life saver for me, i make about 25 bottles a day, put them in the frig and use this bottle warmer to warm them up as needed, yes sometimes it takes longer than usual, sometimes it doesn't but you know what, i've tried 2 other products they don't stand a chance next to this one, and i have totally abused this one, i leave the water in it all the times (which they tell you not to do), i've droped it countless times, i use it soooo many times, my babies are almost 7 months old now and still using it, you just have to pay attention to it sometimes, just like you wouldn't put something on the stove and walk away, i love it.
