User Submitted DaVinci Anastasia Crib - Cherry Reviews July 14, 2008 Really nice crib Nice crib, sturdy and looks more expensive than it actually was. This crib does retail for over $600 with price and shipping to private baby shops. Same crib as Anastasia by Million Dollar Baby - they're the same company. Looked at a lot of drop side cribs that were really rickety so glad this is much more sturdy. Haven't used the crib yet as baby is due in September but looking forward to it!
Only negatives: The assembly directions do suck though (only reason I gave it 4 stars), so if it doesn't make sense go with your instincts. Wood is pine so is soft and easy to scratch, and the stain color does have some variation because of the pine wood as well. I followed some suggestions in other reviews and used some wood glue when putting the drawer together and it seems fairly sturdy now.
June 3, 2008 Great Crib! I bought a Simplicity crib a few weeks back and had to return it because the quality stank (literally, but that's a different story). Decided to purchase this crib and what a difference in the quality. This crib was easy to set up, done in less than 45 minutes by myself. The wood finish could be a little harder, but that's not a big issue.
February 13, 2008 Love it!!! Drawer is a little iffy... This crib is beautiful! The other reviews were correct in stating it is very sturdy. The drop down side rail is well made, easy to use, and also very sturdy. The only problem I see with the crib is that the drawer underneath, while useful for storage, is a little rough sliding on the track. I've tried to add lubricants with no success. Overall, I love this crib and would definitely recommend it!
February 1, 2008 Easy and fast to put together I received the crib today. It was nicely packed in a series of boxs so it protected the crib from any damage. It didn't take me more then an hour to put it together. That time also include the unpacking of the product out of the box. Once up, it looks great. Just have to wait for the Matress to make the crib complete.
Great Product and easy to assemble for the buyer.
March 18, 2007 LOVE IT Love this crib!! Was hesitant to order online but so happy we did... we didn't use the drawer but the crib itself is very sturdy and very nice looking.. only took fi about an hour to put together!!
March 16, 2007 We love this crib! This crib not only has superb styling, but is heavy and looks much more expensive than it is. There were a few scratches that occurred during shipping, but did not affect the look of it once in the room. My girlfriend even commented on how sturdy it was and how much wood was used to make it. She has a pricey Pottery Barn crib, and she said this was a better crib! I didn't tell her it was half the price of hers!!
March 5, 2007 Love it! My husband picked this crib. It is very elegant and looks a lot more expensive. It is very sturdy and I love the drawer below although I would not put anything too heavy in it. I use it for blankets and diapers. My husband did not have any problems putting it together. The drop side is very easy to operate. I did not have any problems with the bumper fitting this crib. We purchased a DaVinci 2 in 1 Emily mattress and it fits perfectly. Overall this is an awesome crib for the money and I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
January 15, 2007 Great Crib! This is a beautiful crib and I put it together myself. I am the grandma of a new baby girl.
December 9, 2006 Not too bad Well, I had a difficult time picking a crib as there aren't a lot of consumer reviews for some cribs and I needed to mail-order one due to the lack of a large car/SUV to take one home from the store. I like the style of this crib and it arrived with nary a scratch on the finish, which seem remarkable to me as it is VERY easy to scratch. In fact I made one trying to put it together on my own (seven months pregnant). It took me approximately an hour and a half and most pieces fit together pretty well. The drawer is a little flimsy and didn't align very well, but I managed to force it together. I knew from some other reviews that this drawer is notoriously flimsy and not a good place to store anything heavier than some sheets or a pacifier, so I'm not relying on this for storage. The mattress support is metal and has 3 positions. You will need a crib skirt because at the highest level the mattress has a gap above the drawer that looks funny without a crib skirt. Overall it seems fairly sturdy. There is some exposed attachments where the bolts go in which are tightened by an allen wrench. I know it won't last long without scratching and I had to take the door off the hinges in my house to get it in the nursery because I assembled it in the living room where I had more room. Overall, I'm fairly happy with the purchase, especially as I tried a Sorelle crib before this that I'm still trying to return that sent me two left sides instead of a left and a right and they were very hesitant to let me return it. Two months later the remains of the crib is still sitting on my porch. At least this company sent me all the right parts and it looks pretty good.
