Fisher Price Aquarium Take Along Swing
User Submitted Fisher-Price Aquarium Take-Along Swing Reviews October 10, 2008 Good for taking a nap This swing is OK, both of my kids love to take naps in it. If they're up neither one of them lasts longer then 15 minutes. You can also get this swing for $70 somwhere else, this price is double.
August 3, 2008 Cute, fun, durable swing.. This is the second Fisher-Price Aquarium Take-Along Swing I've gotten. I bought the 1st model about 4 years ago for my 1st baby and now I have it again for my new baby. I loved the 1st one. I gave it away and it still works today 4 years later under continuous use! (my cousin's had this model for over a year and it still works great)
Now as for this swing model I love all the new features it has. I like the fact that you can rotate the top part that holds the lights. Great idea! My son loves it. The lights & music help soothe him when he can't fall asleep.
The only thing I dislike about this model is that it does not recline as much as the other one, actually it does not recline at all=(. When my son falls asleep his head just hangs over to the side making it dangerous. We had a scare when his head got caught in between the "blue frame bar" and the "swinging white bar" that holds the swing. Of course like most baby products children are not to be left un-attended and we caught it right away. Now we just place receiving blankets on both sides, when one gets caught it just stops the swing. I do feel parents should consider this before purchasing this model. Like I mentioned before it is a great, soothing, fun swing and it is only a hazzard if the baby is left un supervised.
July 23, 2008 Horrifying Head Clunker/Strangulation Hazard! Even though she was buckled in, my baby fell sideways after falling asleep in this swing. Her head was completely out of side of the cradle. Not only that, the automatic swinging motion was beating her head against the back bar as it kept swinging. She was screaming! Thank goodness she could scream so I got to her right away. This swing should be recalled. I won't even put this thing on a garage sale. I wouldn't feel right about it.
June 2, 2008 Must have! I've used the Fisher-Price Aquarium Swing with both my children and they absolutely loved it! The design of the seat is very comfy and will fit smaller as well as larger size infants (and toddlers). My two year old still tries to climb in it for a swing (and has actually fallen asleep in it). Yes, there is a weight limit, but try explaining that to him. My 9 month old LOVES it and swings everyday! Very entertaining and very portable -lightweight yet sturdy)!
May 19, 2008 Great swing, especially for older babies This is the best swing on the market for babies who will sleep nowhere else but the swing. My 13 month old still naps in it, every single day. She naps in it for hours, much longer than she would in the crib, and she falls asleep in there almost instantly. My sanity is tied to this swing.
We have a full-size swing in addition to this swing, but it sits up so high that I am afraid she'll fall out. In this swing, she sits less than 2 inches off the ground, so there is absolutely no risk of her falling out and being hurt. Also, it is the only travel swing on the market (that I am aware of) that reclines quite as far back, so even if she leaned forward really far, she wouldn't fall out. I've looked at other travel swings (even the other ones made by F-P), and the seat is nowhere near as deep.
I don't mind buying all of those C batteries, they buy me a whopping TWO AND A HALF HOURS of nap time every day. Life is good.
April 29, 2008 i can use both arms again! My baby cried every time i put him down until i got this. He's 6 weeks old and is a little scared of the orange fish, but the lights and sounds are great and it doesn't take up too much space in our little house.
February 16, 2008 love it I actually bought this travel swing because it cost less than the big ones but it beecame very useful since it was so easy to fold up and take along. I also like that I can easily move it around the house from room to room and it's safe to do so with the baby in it. I have a new baby now so we'll see how long it lasts. I definatley recommend this over a full size version if you can't afford both.
November 25, 2007 Chair broke while my baby was in it I bought this swing because it wouldn't take up too much room, but that was a mistake. This swing broke while my baby was in it. I screamed, then he cried. It was horrible. I don't recommend this item at all. I bought a large sturdy swing instead.
September 27, 2007 Nice Little Swing My daughter is 2 mos. old. A friend gave us this swing, and we have the "Fisher Price Smart Stages 3-in-1" swing too. She likes them both at different times (for reasons only she understands). I like the music on this swing better than other swings I've had (this is my 4th child). It is soft and soothing, not "tinny" and abrasive. There are also several songs, not just a few that repeat over and over. My baby likes the fish on the sides. She didn't discover them until she was about 5 or 6 weeks old, and when she did, she was enthralled with them. She doesn't like the lights. They seem to bother her. I'm not sure that would be the case with all babies. Not a problem, we just leave them off. I'll try them again later when she's older. I like the many "grow with baby" entertainment options on this swing. Seems like that will keep her from getting bored with it as she grows. I also like the portability a lot. Especially since our Labrador Retriever likes to lick her in the face in her other swing! LOL. With this one, I can put it on a table and the dog can't reach her. Swing seat is "hammock" style, so it's comfortable (there's no hard plastic backing on it). Pad is also very easy to remove for washing. I haven't found that the batteries run out too quickly, BUT - we don't use the lights, and she doesn't use the swing every day, so - I don't know.
September 12, 2007 multi purpose swing for new moms We brought it during the first month and we are still using it after 9 months. My baby likes it very much, she like to eat only in this swing.
