Specially designed for making fresh-frozen baby food in quantity at home! Trays are designed so that each compartment is a one-ounce cube - a single serving size for your baby. Each tray contains 12 compartments. Using one set of trays you make 24 servings of baby food at a time! Plus, each Fresh Baby Food Tray includes a cover to prevent freezer burn and to keep freezer odors out of your baby's food. Fresh Baby Food Trays are made of FDA-approved food safe plastic and are dishwasher-safe. Contains 2 trays and 2 lids.
User Submitted Fresh Baby So Easy Baby Food/Breast Milk Trays Reviews November 9, 2008 Nice baby food storage! These work great for storing baby food. The cubes of baby food come out just like they would in an ice cube tray. The lid is nice for storing, and they stack conveniently in the freezer, minimizing the amount of space the food takes up. The lids sometimes do not stay on all the way, though, which can lead to freezer burnt baby food.
November 3, 2008 BPA-free, Durable, Good Value My title says it all: BPA-free, Durable, Good Value. I use the trays to get perfect 0.5 oz. servings of home-cooked grains and vegetables. This is a fantastic alternative to either cooking small quantities fresh daily (who has time for that with a baby) or constantly feeding liquified sludge from a jar (ew). Don't get me wrong, Earth's best is awesome -- as like a topping to whole grain pasta -- but babies are people, too, and amazingly, they like FOOD! These are great trays. When the food is frozen, you can pop out the cubes and put them in a baggie. The cubes (in a baggie) won't freeze together after being frozen in the trays, and then you can use the trays for more stuff. If you're serious about cooking real food for your baby/toddler, I recommend getting at least 6. I have only enough room for 6 (and that was all I was willing to shell out for food trays), and although I have to put stuff in baggies quite a bit, 6 has been an okay quantity for me. If I had a bigger freezer, I would definitely go for more trays! P.S. I handwash mine. I'm not sure you can put them in dishwasher, but I think the handwashing helps them last!
October 24, 2008 I LOVE THESE!!! These are by far the best baby food tray I've tried. I make all my own baby food because my daughter has so many allergies and even though the cubes are small, it makes them relatively easy to get frozen food out. I will definitely be buying more of these. I only have 6 trays right now and I could use about 4 more. I highly recommend these!
October 3, 2008 Great baby food product! I love this whole system! It's made making baby food so easy. I bought these extra trays because I make quite a bit of food at one time and could use the extra trays. If you want to make your own food, get this book and these trays...you won't be sorry.
October 1, 2008 Just an expensive ice cube tray with a lid... My set of trays were given to me by someone who got them as freebies, but she didn't have a baby and thought I'd make better use of them. Certainly making pureed baby food and storing it frozen in cube form is very convenient, but I do *not* find these "Fresh Baby" trays to be any better than using regular ice cube trays. I do find the trays to be more stiff than my other regular trays, so I have to let them sit on the counter for a few minutes first before I can twist/flex them to get the cubes out. So far I haven't had any problems with the lids snapping properly, as some others have commented, but I also remove the food from the trays after a couple hours when it is frozen and store the cubes in another container. Since I do that, it doesn't even matter that they have lids. In my opinion, save your money and use regular ice cube trays instead.
September 23, 2008 Good idea, but a little bit of a hassle This product is a good idea, but each cube only holds half of what is described, as some others have also observed. Also, I am only able to get a few of the already- smaller- than -stated cubes in a bottle. You will have to thaw your milk cubes in another vessel prior to putting them in a bottle so you get the ounce amount that baby will need.:( It will work to save on buying storage bottles, but is more hassle than I was hoping for.
September 14, 2008 very helpful! First of all, each cube is about 1/2 an ounce, not an ounce as the description says. But this is a great product! I can freeze my pumped milk in smaller portions, so that we don't defrost too much at a time, leading to less waste. The trays are covered, which keeps freezer funk from getting to the milk. They've been fine on the top rack of my dishwasher, and having two of them works out great so I can use one and clean one at a time.
May 16, 2008 Product description lie The product description claims that each cube in these trays holds one ounce of baby food or breast milk. That is simply not true. Each cube holds one half of an ounce (1 Tablespoon) not an ounce (2 Tablespoons).
April 9, 2008 works great for me I have been using these for several months and haven't had any trouble with the lids warping. I wash them on the top rack of the dishwasher and take the food out the day after I make it so I haven't had any frostbite issues. I like that the cubes are small because I like to mix up different varieties of food. Since they are small, I can just pop out a couple different cubes and mix them up.
March 18, 2008 Broke on 1st use I like that it has a cover, but the food is very hard to get out and the tray broke the first time I used it. The plastic is so hard when frozen that it becomes brittle. Still looking for a better way to freeze baby food.
