User Submitted Graco Lauren 4-in-1 Dropside Convertible Crib - Natural Reviews March 23, 2008 Perfect This was a gift from my grandparents. All together it's a great crib. It's safe, the height is perfect, the front is easy to lower for even better access, the color is soft and neutral, it's easy to move on the wheels, easy and fast to put together, easy to buy a mattress for, and we were even able to put a crib net on it to keep our cats out. Perfect to grow with our little girl.
December 6, 2007 Calling it 4-in-1 is a bit deceptive Overall, we are very happy with this crib. But I did want to draw attention to the misleading description.
The ad for this indicates that the crib "converts" to a full-size bed. This is not accurate. The directions that come with it basically tell you that to "convert" it to a full-size bed, you follow some steps to basically disassemble the entire crib, and then the large side attaches to a full-size bed (NOT INCLUDED!!) as a headboard.
Considering it shows a picture of it without letting you know that there isn't any way to convert the frame to a full-sized bed, I consider that deceptive. They could have easily said that it converts to the headboard of a full-sized bed. That would have been more honest.
Apart from that, and the fact that the directions for assembling are not entirely clear (we had to disassemble a couple of parts and reassemble a few times because the directions weren't clear) and the parts are not super well-marked for assembly, this seems to be a solid, well-constructed crib.
Just make sure you know exactly what it is you're getting. At best it's solidly a 2-in-1 (crib and toddler bed). What's really the difference between the toddler bed and the day bed? Arrangement of the pillows, I guess! ;)
