User Submitted Graco Lovin' Hug Swing - Jungle Adventure Reviews May 14, 2008 you'll get lots of use out of this cute swing We've used this swing from day one and it's been great. It is soothing for babies from newborn all the way up to about the time they become mobile...my 10 1/2 month old still loves to swing in it even though she's really almost outgrown it...and she loves the zebra toy that it came with. The only con I can think of for this swing is that the nature sounds & heartbeat sounds are extremely static-y and not useful (other than one specific waves setting that sounds good). The music is very nice though. My daughter has spent many hours swinging, napping, and playing in this cute swing. Set it next to your work space or in the kitchen and you'll have free hands and a safely occupied baby for a little while anyway!
February 14, 2008 If the swing has problems, try giving Graco a call This is our 2nd Graco swing. The first swing we bought worked very well (was a basic model and did not have lots of extras) and stayed in perfect working condition for two babies.
Then for our third baby girl we had to purchase a new swing because we gave away the old one. The baby was quietly amused watching the animal mobile. We put more colorful animals in rings with the three animals the swing came with and that made her smile more often. More importantly she was sleeping very soundly in the swing, up to 2-3 hours at a time. Amazing!
But then it started squeaking. One of the arms (the left one in which the mobile hung) began making this awful squeaking noise. After the squeaking begins, the swing stops moving altogether. We have used the swing for less than three months! My husband says we need to grease up the arm mechanism. I will do that once I find suitable grease(?). He's not talking Crisco oil. I haven't called Graco yet, but it will be interesting to hear what they say.
UPDATE: Graco was responsive --- they are sending a motor replacement part within 10 days. The representative told me I was not using the swing correctly because she said I needed to initially push the swing while pushing a swing setting. If the swing is allowed to start swinging on its own always, the motor is overworked and can be damaged. So when the motor replacement part arrives, I will update on how swing is performing.
UPDATE: Well, the motor unit sent didn't solve the problem. It helped a little bit --- the swing was operational at setting #6 but not at the lower settings. There was still squeaking. Another call to Graco resulted in a housing unit (the arm where the mobile is attached) and another motor unit sent to us. This time the problem seems fixed. No more squeaks and the swing works at all the settings.
Graco sent all these parts free of charge, so I thought that was nice. I will buy from Graco again since they displayed responsibility and integrity.
