Pediatricians recommend swaddling to comfort and soothe newborns, but loose blankets are difficult to keep snug. SwaddleMe wings have Velcro tabs, to wrap up your newborn and stay comfortably in place. As baby grows, wings readjust for a perfect fit. SwaddleMe wings are easily opened to prevent overheating, and the leg pouch can be popped down for a quick diaper checking or changing. SwaddleMe can also be used in the car seat, simply insert car seat harnesses through the access slits!
User Submitted Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe 100% Cotton Flannel Large, Blue Gingham Reviews January 7, 2009 Perfect Wrap First time moms (and dads) will love this ... so E Z to use even little mommie-helpers can swaddle baby perfectly. Bought 3 and will be coming back for more.
November 2, 2008 Every colicky baby needs one This works great!!! Small is for newborns to maybe 2 months, in my experience but large is 3-4 or 5 month depending on length of baby...but by 5 mos. colic usually gone. These work so well in making the baby feel secure. Read the book the The Happiest Baby on the Block and your life will be changed as the baby gets relief from colic,,,,,and you'll have some well needed rest I like the flannel over the cotton for this time of year, not too heavy. not too light for my baby. The book is adamant on swaddlersand they are correct.!! Also, when in doubt buy larger size, baby will grow into it. This is a value when you compare to Halo brand. Does not have the convenience of a bottom zip and a removable swaddler like Halo but it does it's job nicely. but the BOOK mentioned is INVALUABLE to any parent of a colicky baby !!!!
October 30, 2008 Great item! My brother had asked for this for the new baby & it is great! It really soothes him which helps everyone in the family!
September 16, 2008 Great swaddler for infants! Love this blanket for my baby. He sleeps so well with it, I had to buy a few extras. Keeps them warm, and helps them sleep longer. Without it, he'll only sleep for a hour or so at a time. But when he's bundled in - he takes 2-3 hour naps. And at night, sleeps for 6-7 hours at a time. Helps mommy sleep better too!
August 15, 2008 Love this! Great swaddle blanket - much easier/more stable than swaddling the baby with a traditional blanket. They hold up really well in the laundry & breath enough so he doesn't get sweaty. Less stretchy than the knit version, but fits the same baby. :-)
May 25, 2008 Get the cotton knit, not the flannel We tried many different types of swaddle blankets (e.g. the Miracle Blanket, etc.) and the Kiddopotamus was the only one that worked right.
The Miracle Blanket definitely kept our baby swaddled, but it literally took 2 of us to get it on her correctly, and it was such an ordeal that she was very upset by the time we were finished. In contrast, the Kiddopotamus is extremely easy to work with and wraps your baby up very quickly.
My only word of advice is to buy the cotton knit instead of the flannel. We thought that the cotton knit would stretch more than the flannel (and indeed it does), but we thought this would make the cotton knit less effective (as in the baby would be able to get out more easily); however, what we found is that the stretchiness allows you to wrap it more tightly and effectively than the cotton flannel.
Also out of 3 flannel ones we bought, 2 tore holes in them very promptly. And even though the cotton knit was used probably 10 times more often than the flannel, it never tore a hole.
April 10, 2008 Kiddopotamus & Co 100% Cotton Flannel SwaddleMe® Blue Gingham - Large It is a clever blanket for the first few weeks after birth. It is thin, so you will need other blankets
December 27, 2007 too small for stated weight Our son is 17 lbs. and is almost 5 months old. The packaging says 15-22 lbs.(for the Large size) No way! I tried to attach the velcro pieces and it can only go half way around his little body and the velcro pieces can't attach. The concept is good but doesn't work. I ended up just going back to swaddling him with a large receiving blanket. If anyone knows of a better product for swaddling please comment on my review. Thanks.
December 17, 2007 Straight Jackets for Babies- what a concept! Our son LOVES his little blanket. It has been a big help getting him to sleep sound through the night. He is a restless sleeper and would move around too much and wake himself up until we got him one of these blankets. It is made of a nice material that's warm but not too warm and comfortable. If you have a restless baby, this is the product for you!
October 6, 2007 A wonderful gift Kiddopotamus & Co Swaddleme® Adjustable Infant Wrap Microfleece Small, Ivory
I sent this to a co-worker's daughter for her newborn; they sent me a picture back of the baby wrapped in it; He looked so cute. My granddaughter who is now 3 yrs. old just loved to be "swaddled" and slept best as a newborn when she was, so I give this product 5 stars.
