Return to activities you thought you couldn't enjoy while nursing - swimming, a leak-free night's sleep, a night on the town in a strapless dress!
User Submitted Lily Padz Continuously Useable Nursing Pads Reviews November 19, 2008 Didn't work for me I'm a 1st time mom and got these on the recommendation of my Bradley instructor. However, they always pop off and/or pool milk so when they do come off, I leak everywhere! I followed the instructions very carefully so I'm disappointed. I am large chested (38E) and have large nipples so I think that's the problem. I wish they worked for me because it would be great...but they don't.
November 15, 2008 Much better Option These are so much better than cotton nursing pads. They get a little getting used to (especially when reapplying in public) but, I just love them.
October 28, 2008 Great product I LOVE these pads. My only complaint is that the adhesive does not last anywhere near 2 months. Mine lasted about 2-3 weeks, but I did wear them all day every day (except when sleeping). I'm on my second pair now and am just going to wear them when the bulky absorbent pads just won't cut it.
September 15, 2008 Great product--especially for special occasions & swimming I was pretty skeptical when I bought these, but they exceeded my expectations. While I'm not sure I would trust these to stop leaks while I was engorged, they really work well once your milk supply has regulated itself (for me, that was after a few months of breastfeeding). I used them a lot for swimming and special occasions (when the regular nursing pads would have shown right through dress, for example). They stay on really well and I have not had any problems with leaking while wearing them. Great product, I highly recommend them!
August 19, 2008 not just for those breastfeeding I used these when I had a reduction, and to help keep the sensitive nipples from rubbing against my clothes, and it worked perfectly. Great after the stitches healed sufficiently enough to handle the silicon. And it's very easy to care for. I recommend getting a few so you can have one drying while wearing the other.
May 27, 2008 Best kept secret for breastfeeding moms I've been using Lily Padz for about 6 months (I'm on my third set now) and I love them! I started using them because I try to avoid disposable products in the interest of saving our planet. However, I discovered that they're so much more comfortable than traditional nursing pads and I like that they're 'invisible' under form-fitting tops. Another bonus is that I can sleep without a bra. I thought it would be a pain to clean them but it's not. I only wash them once a day (although I think the instructions say to wash/rinse them at each feeding). I bring them in the shower with me and it only takes a minute to clean them with a little bit of dish soap.
I've leaked on a couple of occasions but only during the first 2 months of breastfeeding (when supply maybe wasn't as stable as it is now?) and when I went an extra long time between feedings (i.e. when my son suddenly slept 7 hours at night instead of his usual 4). I recommend holding off on using these until supply and demand are steady and feedings are routine. I didn't wear these at night for several months because I never knew when my son would suddenly sleep the whole night.
I recommend these to all of my pregnant friends and even bought a set as a baby gift for one of my friends.
May 22, 2008 Must-have!!! This product is a must-have for any nursing mom. I could have used it during my last couple months of pregnancy too.
May 19, 2008 Great! Bought these for my daughter. She loves them! These really make nursing or pumping much easier. No leaking! No washing out other pads--can even sleep without a bra at night. Makes life much easier!
May 17, 2008 A little tricky, but works great The first couple of times I used it, I didn't seal it correctly and when it came time to take it off, because of the seal/suction it creates, milk went shooting. You really have to push in your nipple and make sure the pad keeps it down before you wrap the rest of it around your breast. But I'd say, after the 3rd time, I had it. No leaks, no more nursing pads, no wet T shirts. I wear it everyday and I love it!
May 8, 2008 Not for the large breasted I was so excited to get a pair for nursing my third child. I told everyone about them. I'm a large chested woman (38E) and from the first use had issues. They weren't large enough to properly cover the area that is suppose to be covered. They pooled milk every time, no matter how snuggly I applied them. I woke up covered in milk whenever I wore them to bed. I had children that slept through the night early so it's not for those not nursing during the night. I also got thrush. That was horrible. I went back to using the cotton pads and found one thin enough to not be seen when wearing thin or snug shirts. I am currently nursing my fifth child and bought a comfy (barely notice I'm wearing it) night-time nursing bra. I love not having to worry about catching milk from my pad every time I go to nurse and not having to worry about the pad popping off. I would only recommend this to someone that has a C cup or smaller.
